EA Officially Added as Defendant in Infinity Ward Lawsuit as Previously Redacted Evidence Surfaces

About a month ago, before the holiday break, Activision filed a cross-complaint in order to seek permission to add Electronic Arts as a defendant in the lawsuit against former Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West. Today, IndustryGamers has learned that the court held a hearing on Monday and accepted the addition of EA as a defendant in the case. This also means that previously redacted information and secret emails are now open. Some of these appear to be quite damning to EA and West and Zampella, showing their plotting together. (Activision, Culture, EA, Frank Gibeau, Industry, Infinity Ward, Jason West, Vince Zampella)

Wow, this is really getting nuts. I don't like Activision, but it does look like EA wrangled away the IW guys.

So the truth is finally leaking more and more out...

Activision isn't as evil as everyone wants them to be nor is EA the saint that everyone wants them to be!

How fast everyone forgets EA Wife!!!

I honestly still dont see the problem in these emails. Vince and West probably just wanted to quit. Not that big of a deal.

I still see Activision as the bad guys in this.

Depending on company policy, you can't hold these types of discussions while under contract.

They were under contract as exec employees, not "at will" employees. They had contractual obligations. And they might even have engaged in sabotage, by delaying MW2 map pack to give EA's Battlefield more room to breathe at release. It's pretty crazy.

K. That makes sense then I guess.

I still think Activision is acting like a bunch of dicks though.

That is the problem!

People can't seem to see anything, but evil in Activision despite to the contrary.
