Capcom is hoping that Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will bring the experience to gamers too scared to play through the recent games in the series.
I doubt any fans of Resident Evil were too scared to finish 4 or 5...
resident evil stopped being scary, or even resident evil after nemesis, just my opinion
YUP...the RE series at its core has been about surviving when the odds are against you and managing limited resources. RE4 gave you too much ammo and RE5 had co-op play. Knowing someones got your back makes the game a lot less scarier.
hahahah RE5 scary? Yeah zombies on dirty bikes are scary as hell /sarcasm
Well I would actually say it was Resident Evil 0 on Gamecube, oh and Code Veronica(X) That was the last great and true RE. RE4 was good for what it did new, but not scary. RE5, well....let me hold my side as to not bust open from the classic ROFLMAO
LMAO who was too scared to finish 4 or 5?? anyone anyone? i doubt these people exist... I think this is just another way for Capcom to say that they hope kids will buy this since RE isn't normally marketed towards them.
Agreed. After Nemesis the series has gone downhill. The ONE thing fans wanted was a SURVIVAL HORROR game and they went and make it more action and less horror... Fantastic move morons!
Code veronica was pretty good. I think RE2 is still the best though.
I'm a long time Resi fan, but Resi 4 was amazing albeit not scary. Resi 3 Nemesis was my fav.
Try REmake, kids.
I literally laughed out loud. I could play that game with dead bodies everywhere, at 3am with the volume all the way up and still wouldnt be scared.
Resident Evil 5 was about as scary as Viva Pinata
With all the moves and ammo we get on the new ones, I don't know how anyone can be scared of RE anymore
Dead Space my friend, we need to support it so the horror genre doesnt die
You're a walking tank in deadspace too! Why the hell would anyone be scared of that game either?!
''Capcom is hoping that Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D will bring the experience to gamers too scared to play through the recent games in the series.'' I assume those are the words from the Author gets scared with everything. Don't play Amnesia The Dark Decent, for you own sake.
Wha? RE4 still had a little bit of that horror atmosphere still not that scary though. And RE5, well it had NONE at all! I hardly consider these two be part of the franchise. Compared to RE3, these two are nothing! The opening of Nemesis was scarier than both these games combined! *Looks at pic of Nemesis and presses Start* "RESIDENT EEEVIL" Holy $#*@!
resident evil 4 scared the shit outta be but that was like 5 years ago. i beat it in 2009 lol. when i first got it the chain saw guy scared me
I had more of a nervous breakdown when he got to me, I thought he was more intense than scary, he made you get in the zone or so they say.
yea thats what i felt too. re4 was very intense but some shit got to me. i played late at night with the volume up i dont know what was wrong with me.
Please Resident Evil 4 & 5 Scary, L4D Was Scarier
PMSL!!!!!!!!1 too Scary, maybe it's because this is a Nintendo console that it's on thet Capcom think they can say this??
Resident Evil hasn't been scary since the first one, Dead Space on the other hand.
I think the second and third games were just as scary as the first. The second one is my favorite because of all the different scenarios.
I scare myself when playing Elder Scrolls lmao
My wife gets that way on fallout when the gaols run her ass down lol. I really should tape her and toss it up on youtube. It's a wonder my controler still works.
I manage to scare myself on a lot of games that require you to play in really dark settings lol. Like those things in Uncharted that jump out and chase you, or in Fallout when in caves. I tend to scare fairly easy though 8)
For games to be scary, you need to be playing in the right environment: 1) Dark room 2) Nobody else present in the room 3) Reasonably large display 4) Loud audio The dark room is particularly important. Even the scariest game (or movie) just isn't scary anymore when your peripheral vision makes you aware of where you are. This is the reason why I play (horror) games only at night with no lights turned.
Neither one of those RE's were scary, but RE4 was definitely a lot better than 5.
WAIT, WAIT, WAIT- STOP THE PRESS. A company...is downplaying the HORROR aspect of a HORROR FRANCHISE to allow people whom are "TOO SCARED" to play the series play without being scared? CAPCOM, WHAT IS YOUR MALFUNCTION?!
they lost touch with the consumers, that's thier malfunction!
Resident Evil hasn't been scary since Resident Evil 3
People always seem to forget Code Veronica. It's the same style as the PS1 games. proper zombies, limited ammo, tank controls and camera. Now, that was one scary game. They should have made RE4/5 a new IP, like dead rising.
RE5?! The only reason I finished that was to see what happened to Wesker and I was not happy.
I really wish they'd find a new villian. The only reason i finished it is because Sheva was hot.
yeah, what they did with wesker was not cool at all. he deserved better!
They should have made Wesker take Chris's foot while he was climbing up to the helicopter, then Chris asks Sheva and Jill to just fire that damn RPG and kill Wesker and him in the process! Yeah, thats it! Or better yet, Wesker kills all of them and takes over the world! Hell, with all of that Uroboros shit, I doubt they would even have a chance to see, let alone to GET to Wesker in the end! Its just bad logic on Capcom's part. How in the blue hell do TWO ordinary people armed with regular guns survive all that crazy stuff THEN kills the most badass teleportin' leather wearin' antagonist who also rocks some killer shades?! Bullpoop!
I was annoyed that they killed Wesker off. But I was PISSED OFF that they fucked around with his backstory. Turning Wesker into Spencer's pawn...The 'Wesker Children'...wtf is this shit?!
Resident evil 4 and 5, scary?
I was truly too scared to finish re5 ... it was so mediocre that i just couldnt .
resident evil 4 and 5 were not scary. The only scary bit was in resi 4 when ur in the labs around the end at that wasnt even that scary
What if we were too bored? Do you have a game for that?
Capcom must be trolling.
If this was EA saying something about a Dead Space side game then fair enough I would totaly agree but Capcom......RE5....Scary...... LOL
I'm glad the old REs are dead. And they should stay that way. I don't want tank controls. I don't want painfully slow gameplay. I don't want horrible dialogue. I'm glad they're dead and gone.
