The Court of Criminal Appeals today will hear the appeal of Devin Moore, who claimed video games and childhood abuse led him to kill two Fayette police officers and a dispatcher.
Moore, now 22, claimed the video game "Grand Theft Auto" and childhood abuse influenced his decision-making. His theory was rejected and the video game defense was disallowed during trial. He was convicted on Aug. 9, 2005, and later sentenced to death.
At the time he was arrested, Moore is reported to have told police, "Life is a video game. Everybody has to die sometime."
