GameZone's Ben PerLee talks about what Ubisoft should do next for their AAA franchise.
More Desmond. I want to know the real story, outside the Animus. AC is a deep series, but I want the next one to be more like 60% Animus, 40% Desmond's Story.
bring back Altair
His story finished in the PSP game.
@Eamon really? then i gotta pick that one up sometimes
Desmond sucks. Biggest Nathan Drake impersonator there is. Every scene where he steals a Nathan Drake quip kills the game for me. They even took it further with the not so subtle sexual dialogue between Lucy *coughelenacough* and Desmond in AC Brotherhood. The Uncharted ripping needs to stop. What needs to be in AC3 is an actualy ending and not a cliffhanger. EDIT:Disagree? Listen to his voice and mannerisms for god sake. He IS drake. Or at least he wants to be. Nolan North should alter his voice a little bit because its just plain weird to see a less attractive version of Drake in another game Acting like Drake. Get some originality for your characters Ubisoft.
Nolan North is the voice actor for both characters and AC came out first. The real story outside the Animus is far more intriguing than the hystorical story. The story inside is about learning the abilities and your lineage. But I want to see what the outcome of the whole plot is. [email protected] Well that is cause he is dropped in a huge WTF of a story with little answers. That is why I want to know more about him. I want him to have a deeper story. This isn't about Altair or Ezio, it's all about Desmond. If we could get more info on him and more time with him in hte 3rd AC, then I think things would transistion better and the character development would improve. I would be happy to have a 4-6 series story of AC. Their was 6 referenced in AC2, You, Altair and 4 more. Maybe get to experience those stories, Or go forward in time since the shrine in AC2 would make for prequels to the story. I don't know, I have faith in Ubi. The AC series is great. Outside of a few climbing quirks it is on one of the best sandboxers this gen next to inFAMOUS and RDR.
I dont see what is so interesting about Desmond himself. The present time is interesting but Desmond is a pretty flat and generic male character with the typical smartass lines that every lead male must have by law these days. He pretty much the ideal media image of a modern male aka a douche. I dont know how such badass characters came from the mind of such an unlikeable guy. Maybe its a message that our generation pretty much sucks.
How the hell can Desmond be a Nathan Drake impersonator when both games came out at the same time? They both have the same voice actor. I think your love of Nathan Drake is messing with your brain here. Jeez.
Desmond and Drake are both fugly.
your an idiot dsnyder. they are the same person and the games came out around the same time. so its not a ripoff. and i hope your a girl or else you might be gay. the fact that you find nathan drake so attractive is wierd.
Less Ezio please.
You can vote on the website on whether you want Ezio or whether you want someone else in the next game. On topic: A katana as a weapon and better stealth mechanics. Looking around corners is annoying in that game.
I wonder if adding some sort of cover system will enhance the game, or break it. Coz that would certainly add to the sneaking around stuff.
Definitely a new era.
Spain, London, or France would be pretty cool.
Hidden Blades on the shoes
Altair: 1 hidden blade - one arm Ezio: 2 hiddden blade - both arms ????: 3/4 hidden blades - feet and arms ????: 5 hidden blades - crotch blade :)
That'd be cool cause he could like kick assassinate people. Thing is though it's a little bit pointless and gratuitous.
No shitty controls. I CAN'T STRESS THAT ENOUGH! The controls in AC:B is fucking garbage
The controls aren't that bad.
I kinda agree with what you're saying. Sometimes I can't defend (R1???) and climbing sometimes is kinda buggy. Brotherhood had better gameplay than AC II, but AC II had by far the better story. In AC II you went to Florence, Venice, Forli and more... In Brotherhood it's like Roma and well.. Roma.. The change in atmosphere was perfect in AC II and I missed that in AC Brotherhood. Gameplay was great though.
Feudal Japan. Since no one is picking up the Tenchu ball, I'd love AC to become the spiritual successor, but the game needs more stalking, more punishment for being spotted. Combat has become way to easy, taking on 10 guys is a breeze, you should be avoiding that. Then again, I do like the combat, someone should just make another Tenchu.
lol i made a threa in the forums about how the next Tenchu should use the AC engine. They should modify it and it'll be a match made in heaven.
@ Bathyj Totally agree with everything you've said. And I posted a similar comment in another related article. http://n4g.com/news/658019/...
There are two problems with your theory. 1. It will become more like Ninjas Creed than Assassins Creed which can cause identity crisis. 2. We are not sure if Desmond had some Asian ancestry. He did not have any Asian features. Both can be easily be debunked if the Assassins came and hid themselves in japan and quite possible they are trying to stop some Templar threat there.
Eeehh Assassin's Creed is kind of a spiritual successor to Prince of Persia. Plus, the French Revolution makes a lot more sense as the next setting. Japan does not. Although I do agree that a new Tenchu game needs to get made, and a good one at that.
Well damn, seems I'm not the only one who loves Tenchu. I really want Sony to make it and give it the AAA treatment its always deserved but never had. Need ideas? I've got a brain full of them.
How about more of a challenge, and more importantly, a difficulty setting. I've been able to breeze through AC:B without upgrading weapons or armor. The series has a great structure, but it definitely needs a shot in the arm in terms of difficulty.
no difficulty settings, it just seems unsuitable for assassin's creed. but that's just what i think.
There is a "challenge" setting by getting 100% sync in missions by giving you a hard objective to complete as well.
I like the idea of dinosaurs with lasers.
And monkeys with cowboy suits riding them.
1770s new england
I think there should be lots of climbing things and jumping off high towers into piles of straw. That would be awesome. These games need to evolve. Just been the same crap with each release. It's getting old. And am I the only one bothered by Enzio and his crossed eyes? There's no way he could do all the running, jumping, and climbing he does with crossed eyes. I do like the idea of Feudal Japan that Bathyj gave. I also wish someone would pick up the Tenchu ball.
How bout more ASSASSINATING?
French Revolution might be the next one. Since the last 3 games were based in Italy with what looks like Abstergo is in Rome I wonder if Desmonds ancestors made it to the US. I doubt Feudal Japan will happen unless it is a different Assassin but that would take away from the story of Desmond is the last of the old race or Ezio had a one night stand with someone from Japan.
All good points. Although Desmond isn't that bad a character. I think they fleshed him out a bit better in Brotherhood. Also the French Revolution seems like a pretty good bet for the setting of that one. You'd probably get to meet Rousseau, you'd probably get to assassinate monarchs, and assualting the Bastille'd be sweet, oh and all the radicalism that went on would suit AC so well. Napoleon'd probably be a templar. Marie Antoinette's execution'd probably be a big plot point too. Only thing is though, I don't know if I could hack a game with a load of frogs croaking at me the whole time hehe, the french accent annoys me so much. Also I don't think it'll be a world war cause' they're already done to death in videogames. And the kind of assassins we're used to wouldn't really fit in... I don't think... The French Revolution is a really strong bet I think. And I wonder if we'll see an animus 3.0?
2 words - CROUCH BUTTON. For a series that is so concerned with sneaking and stealth, the lack of a crouch button is ridiculous.
I think I've had enough of this series now. It was good when it came out but now they are just milking it. I don't understand why companies do this. Better yet, I don't understand why consumers put up with it. Am I the only person who gets bored of playing the same game series over and over and over again every year? Wait, I think Call of Duty answered my question for me.
Setting it in a new era sounds like a good idea.
Npcs' mouths moving in regular gameplay and no more clipping!
i really wish they would make the next game completely in the present time of the game and have someone other than desmond as the main character. parkouring around a futuristic city sound rly fun
Anything but renaissance Italy will do just fine. Ezio is cool and all, but I can only handle so much broken English.
An ending that makes some goddamn sense
For real man. What was with that? The miracle is in the execution???? The execution of the girl? When you hold the apple, it genetically becomes part of you. So did you somehow impregnate the girl when you stabbed her..... hence a miracle? Or is she a templar and she hadda be killed? I was like WTF?
Brotherhood of the Wolf, while an acquired taste, contains plenty of potential ideas. My 2 cents :/
