Mortal Kombat: Rebirth TV Series Confirmed

Mortal Kombat is also one game that has seen it’s side of Hollywood. The first movie was a success and personally I believe it was because the Street Fighter movie had left a bad taste in our mouths. The last couple of movies of MK tough were just plain terrible and the franchise was seemed to be given up.

If it's anything like that clip, it's going to be atrocious TV. The way they had Reptile as a human flesh eating freak of nature could be gotten away with, if not somewhat tasteless considering the writer based him off a real life disease that kills babies. Baraka, however, is just laughable, as are the rest of the characters.

The way they are trying to ground these characters in reality is a huge mistake and just makes it ridiculous. Had they went a fantasy route, you could get away with all sorts without your brain questioning things. Baraka surgically sanding down his teeth and attaching a retractable blade into his arm? Aye, right! Who the fuck are they trying to kid here?! Now, if it was said Baraka came from some kind of demonic underworld then that's passable in an ironic sense, plus he'd look like a right scary bastard, which he is. In that clip, he reminded me of Blanka from the Street Fighter film. Not a good sign.

LastDance2887d ago (Edited 2887d ago ) can always watch Mortal Kombat 2: Annihilation.

Or the Mortal Kombat TV series.

They are full of fantasy.

Personally I thought the clip was really well developed and the characters were genuinely interesting.

i've been a fan of mortal kombat since the first one came out (when i was like 5 or so) and I am excited to see how this series goes.

I don't care if they try to do it as close to the games as possible because they did years ago, and look how that turned out.
