Now if only multiplats were able to look that good on PC without mods.
Its sad because multiplat games usually only look slightly better than console versions with the main differences being resolution, frame rate, draw distance.
The lighting, shaders, post processing, etc usually remain the same.
If only developers put more effort onto the PC versions.
"multiplat games usually only look slightly better than console versions with the main differences being resolution, frame rate, draw distance."
"The lighting, shaders, post processing, etc usually remain the same."
LOL. Keep telling yourself that. They have higher res textures also, and can render many hdr effects the consoles can't even do, not to mention AA. Take BFBC2 for exapmple looks light years ahead of the consoles.
Actually, the only confirmation we have of a location is from Rockstar. On the back page of the manual for Stories From Liberty City on the 360 there is a small teaser saying "See you next time" or something, with an image underneath. Supposed to look like someone put a poster on top of an image and it is torn to reveal part of the image beneath. The image was discovered to be from a billboard from Vice City.
Not much of a confirmation, but enough to actually give credence to the possibility it will be in Vice City.
Also, GTA4 pc is 32 players online... But yeah, it still isn't enough. Hopefully when Red Dead Redemption comes out on PC a bit later this year, they'll try for 64 or higher. 32 is still twice as nice though.
I dont see the big deal here. The only difference I see is that the textures are a bit brighter and the sky looks more realistic but I was expecting photorealism because of the title. I guess hype strikes again.
Ok how about instead of hitting the fucking disagree button you reply to me and tell me WHY. This DOESNT look that great. Maybe slightly better than my ps3 version at best. These graphic mods are only good for turning up the textures a little but but it doesnt look anything like the "reality" it claims to be.
Lol the PS3 version of GTA 4 wasnt even HD. Compared to the standard PC version, PS3 version looked like a blurry mess. Foolish to make a comparison against a modded version.
Why do I have to explain myself? I hit disagree on your comment. Why do I need to reply and explain? Are you really that slow?
You say "I dont see the big deal here. The only difference I see is that the textures are a bit brighter and the sky looks more realistic"
I say "that's fucking bullsh*t, this is amazing, I see a HUGE difference", so I hit disagree, as in DISAGREEMENT with your comment. Got it? I think I speak for most people who disagreed with you.
People disagreed because you are clearly wrong. Try playing the 360 or PS3 version, then play the unmoded PC version. It's the difference between being able to see the details in the world around you and having mud rubbed in your eyes. Oh, and I bought the PC version for $5 from Steam.
LOL @ "the only difference I see is that the textures are a bit brighter and the sky looks more realistic"
@HeavenlySnipes Of course your 360 version looks much better than these direct video captures. I bet you have the high-res shadows and everything...
Do you know why you think your version doesn't look like that? Because you didn't see it running next to the clearly superior PC version. Go back into your game and look at those shadows. Look at those textures. Yes, they really are that blurry.
Seriously? Run these vids side by side and look again. The mod makes the console versions look like they were painted by Van Gogh.

Hm I didn't realise this was running on the PS3 ....... oh wait it isn't it is running on the PC. So what you really meant to say was "This is the way GTA should look if Rockstar used the full capabilities of the PC and make it PC-exclusive".
and Crysis (a 3 year old game) looks ten times better than infamous, what's your point ?
This mod is RUNNING ON THE PC so how can it be the game will only look like this if it is a PS3 exclusive ? It isn't running like this on the PS3 is it ? Nope but it is running like this on the PC.
30 GB of audio and custcenes won't make the game look better. The best looking game this gen comes from a DVD. If storage space actually mattered I guess Quake looks better than Uncharted 2 because its sitting on a 1TB HDD right now.
Hunter its running on a PC....and disk medium does not determine graphic capabilities. If anything the game should be a PC exclusive and then you might actually see true HDR effects and 1080p+ resolutions and 60fps and real AA and Tessellation....something the PS3 does not offer.
Nevermind about the graphics for a minute...why would any dev fill up an entire Bluray disk with content when they can hold back and rape you with DLCs?
yes moron is right, and it's the typical ps3fanboy mentality around here. they think that their console is still the super computer sony claimed it was back in 2006.
bluray =/= better graphics cell =/= unlimited processing power console loyalty = you being retarded
You clearly under estimate The Power of the Cell. I heard that Sony disable because the other OS option in the PS3 because in the wrong hands, it could lead the console to become self aware and terminate 360 fanboys.
agree. when devs dont have the balls to try something original, the mod community will come and save the day by showing original could also bring in sales and popularity.
Disagree, give one example. The mod team working on Black Mesa shouldnt get more credit than the original team who made HL1. This modder shouldn't get more credit than rockstar for making their game look shiny...
A dev team has to create a game from scratch from someones first initial ideas all the way to a finished product. Some modder comes along, maxes out the settings, makes it run only on computers with insanely high specs and you give them more credit for it?
Its not about having the balls to try something original... they are trying to make money, if they fail they're screwed. Thats why sequels are so prevalent. ____________ Sony 'til I die
Nah, a bunch of people working on a free project to improve the QUALITY of the visuals in a professionally developed game shouldn't get any credit.
I mean they get paid wages for this mod and dedicate 40+ hours a week to it right? No? Oh...well then I guess what they have done to out do Rockstar IS impressive.
Oh and for creative mods? Forgotten Hope, Desert Combat, Natural Selection, Red orchestra, Killing Floor, Counter Strike and many others. As we all know, FPS/RTS hybrids are REAL common...
Portal came from a small dev team out of Digipen. They made a game called Narbacular Drop at school, Valve liked the concept, hired them, turned it into Portal.
Oblivion Unofficial Patch. straight from the mod community.
here's the description.
"This mod is a joint effort to fix the vast amount of bugs currently existing in Oblivion v1.2.0.416, fixing over 1,800 bugs so far! If you're experiencing a bug with Oblivion and it's not fixed by our mod please by all means report the bug to us in as much detail as possible so we can try to fix it! Also if you find any: levitating trees or rocks, see-through or fall-through walls/objects or other stuff out of place, please let either of us know. To get the exact location, use the console commands sdt 0 and then tdt, click the item, note the Cell (not PC Cell) and form ID value (the eight hexadecimal digits at the top, ie 00123ABC) and indicate what's out of place. You can use tdt again to toggle the debug display off. Thank you and we hope you have a better Oblivion experience!"
Absolutly fantastic!! Can't stop gazing at the street textures. The light reflections during the "rainy night" part are beautiful. Much better than in my hometown were everything has a greenish glow and the rain tastes like battery acid :) Keep up the good work!!
at 2:30 I was like :O
"at 2:30"?

Spawning a halfpipe on one of the big bridges is great fun! See taxi's and motorbikes jump over the halfpipe and fail misserbly.
Or use the Car Tune trainer. Paint your car, change the weight, handling, suspension, height, etc etc.
Great fun dude.

One of the few games I have on my 360 is GTAIV. It does NOT look like that onscreen. Failed troll attempt

I dunno why, but when I read your comment I thought of this. http://www.youtube.com/watc... Damn Seth McFarlane...
It loves quad. Your CG is a little low though

That made me chuckle, thanks.
If that were true, then the main thing that determined how good the games looked on your PC would be the size of your hard drive :)
Its a PC mod and it doesnt have anything to do with PS3 or Bluray...
once again.. moron
