Oh my gawd metal geeeeeeeeeeear !!!

juniordee2718d ago

If it's next gen it won't be on ps3.

ExplosionSauce2718d ago

It could mean "next-gen" as in PS4. Or the next generation of Metal Gear games...

2718d ago
Ocelot5252718d ago

could also be mgs collection

HolyOrangeCows2718d ago (Edited 2718d ago )

Could be PSP2 or 3DS. Technically, it WOULD be "next gen"
And handheld hardware could potentially take closer to Console-level coding/programming skills to program for.

However, it could easily just mean the next gen of the MGS series as in a reboot/spin off/etc.

Doesnt seem like it, they are asking for people with 360 experience as well. Hmmmmm who knows hopefully it is a PS3 exclusive!

blahblah2718d ago (Edited 2718d ago )

exclusive or not, i just want game that play well as metal gear does.

my favorite is still MGS3, so if ps2 is able to do it... i'm game

and if they fix the online box glitch... they hooked me. two things that turned me off the online were not being able to turn of voice/chat/voting forever and people who were boxing/unboxing constantly. kojima please, give slower box (3-4 seconds) animation where headshot actually works and let my soldier climb faster than my grandma with arthritis

Dylantalon12718d ago

This is amazing news especially if its ps3 exclusive.

Lirky2718d ago

@ all 3 of you

He needs a programmer who has experience with pc,ps3,and 360.

Meaning the newer mgs series will be multiplatformed.

christheredhead2718d ago

no not true. most developers hire for all platforms whether the game is an exclusive or not. to limit yourself to a team who has only worked with 1 platform is not necessarily the ideal way to go. you can have fantastic programmers regardless as it doesn't require someone with only ps3 experience so we'll have to wait and see.

PshycoNinja2718d ago (Edited 2718d ago )

What Christheredhead said is true. They just want someone who has worked on a team and knows how the pipeline and schedule works for making games. The only difference coding for PC & Xbox 360 vs PlayStation 3 is that MS systems use the DirectX Code library while PS3 is OpenGL. Both use the C languages (C# and C++) how ever DirectX doesn't give you much control over memory management as OpenGL can. This is why games on PS3 look and play great. Its because they can alocate memory to whats important than doing useless things on the back end.

So really a Xbox 360 coder can code for the PS3 too. They would only need to change up their coding style a little bit to work with the OpenGL nature of the PS3.

Lirky2718d ago

ok i agree with you both, however if its a new mgs game it could be a backstory game in story wise aka a spin-off.

If its exclusive itll be either the death of solid snake and if he had any kids they would live on his legacy of tactical espionage action.

SnakeMustDie2718d ago (Edited 2718d ago )

MGS5. The ones who said that it will be multiplat because they are hiring PS3/360/Wii experienced devs, by your logic Uncharted 3 is going multiplat. They are only hiring programmers who are experienced with next-gen consoles. We cannot say if this new MGS will still be exclusive or multiplat.

thief2718d ago

Since when were the 360 and wii "next-gen?"
