While GameStop is perfectly happy selling you Xbox Live points cards at the moment, in the future, the retailer wants to do more than that. It wants your Xbox Live details, so it can send you the stuff it's selling.
"GameStop Wants Access To Your Xbox Live Account" Sure, but I want access to your store at night and the CEOs bank account.
You will not!
Dumbest thing y not just scratch it call who'se ever home and give them the code i always do this for my psn.
Dumb because its on 360 and not ps3?
I have 6 gamestops in my city and none of them are ever busy when I drive by them. One is in the same parking lot as the grocery store we shop at and it's almost as if they take long periods of time off and only open up during certain events. It's sad. I can't wait till the used video game market finally dries up and everything goes digital.
"...and everything goes digital." Hell no, as much as Gamestop sucks sometimes, i want to have physical collections of my games. Digital is nice for somethings, but i don't want everything to go digital.
The reason that I get excited for digital is hopefully you can take your games with you to the next generation console. I would love to play my PSN games on PS4, PS5, PS6... EDIT: I know it is a 360 article, but the same holds true, play Live games on Xbox 3, Xbox 4...
SPEAKING of pirates... XD
Might as well let them have it. The NXE is already filled with ads despite people paying $60 a year to unlock modes like multiplayer that the devs already give you.
No thanks. I have Steam for things like that.
Well, deny it all you want, people. Digital download is coming, and we are just going to have to accept it. I said it over a year ago. Expect by 2012 to have everything as digital downloads. We half way there now, Itunes, Video Game downloads, Movies. Soon computers are going to stop offering a cd/bluray rom and have mini sd slots. .... which I've seen already.
I can't wait for digital distribution. Why should i have to go out to store to find a game, then when i get there its sold out, i have to go somewhere else. i'm out of my way, have to deal with traffic. That just seems so 20th century to me. The game comes out april 3rd. let me just put on my system (xbox or ps3, wii doesn't have storage so....)on april 3rd, hit download, and even if the game is 50 GB it will be done in about 24 hours with my connection speed. If you have fibre maybe even much faster. Not only that, but what about games that are rare and hard to find anymore. Remember how they only printed very few copies of rez? Only way you could get it was to pay insane amounts on ebay. Why not just let me d/l it? The physical copy will still hold value so collectors don't have to worry. And publishers will save a ton on distribution as well. Renting too. It could work like netflix, the d/l will only work for the rented period with the option to extend. The possibilities for digital distribution are endless.
digital distro is dumb id much rather have the physical disk then have it downloaded to have a hard drive failure and lose everything
The games will be linked with your PSN/Gamertag. So hard drive failure is no big deal. You can just sign in and re-download when you need to once you use the same ID. Look at it another way. If someone breaks into your house and steals your games, they are gone. With D/l's they are not. If there is a fire, they are gone if your house is flooded they are gone if you lend someone your games and they never give you back they are gone. if you sit on them and they break, they are gone. D/l's, once linked to your PSN/gamertag are yours for life, no matter what.
re download yes....but the amount of time to re download tons of games dosn't seem worth it
