This article describes a few situations in which Mass Effect could do well in the multiplayer realm.
Mass Effect does not need Multiplayer! Fucking hell, What is it with Devs shoving MP down our throats? I really hope EA is smart and leaves MP out of ME3. If they really want to do a MP Mass Effect, How about a Download only game, like BF 1943?
Co-op would be a great feature, considering you are w/ your team for 99% of the game.
I don't understand these articles? "Unwanted guest"? What the fuck is that suppose to mean. I would rather have Mass effect 3 with multiplayer then Mass effect 3 without multiplayer especially if it were the same pricetag so why the hell not, it's free!
I am for drop-in, drop-out co-op. They would sell more copies and it would cause players to explore more. @AndrewRyan: Because the fanbase are mostly RPG fans who would prefer a more fleshed out single player world than an incomplete world with tact on multi-player.
Not free. It'll come at the cost of the Singleplayer being 'less than it could have been'. Cus in the end, it could always have been better if all the time, resources and money were spent on the singleplayer alone. I can see how multiplayer could work, but it's just not necessary. At the least finish the trilogy first.
Drop in/out co op would be great but multiplayer for mass effect an is the dumbest idea I've ever heard! Not every game needs multi, it's going hurt the single player game.
I thought Uncharted 2 multiplayer was a bad idea....man was i wrong
I always felt that ME would be good as a multiplayer game! With all the effort put into the shooting mechanics, it would be a welcome addition and probably get more people to buy it! Besides... if you only like the single player, you don't have to play the multi player.
why u so mad? i would spend extra hours on mass effect 3;
I think this game doesn't need MP...
NEVER NEVER NEVER
co op with 1 person would be nice
I don't think it would work. Honestly don't see the point. Mass Effect isn't reknowned for it's gunplay, it's more about the detailed universe behind it, besides, how the heck are biotics going to work in real time?
This game doesn't need MP, Dead Space 2 didn't need MP, Bioshock 2 didn't need MP, Condemned 2 didn't need MP. You see a pattern (except I guess it is Masss Effect 3 doesn't fit the pattern but still)?
I would like that but the story mode is where it counts in this franchise.
EA will ruin mp for masseffect3 with it's EA i.d. system.
I could see Co-op being something they could and might include, seeing as though you have the squad members that come with you. But really, if they are going to do competitive MP (which isnt needed) they should focus all their time on Single player and if they have time, put together a MP. I'd rather have another great Mass Effect single player game, than having them making a shorter experience just to focus on making multiplayer.
I don't think the main shooting mechanic in ME2 is strong enough to warrant multiplayer, kind of like in Bioshock. If they improve it then it could be a good addition.
Do not want.
If they were to add MP, they should focus on it second.
Bioshock 2 multiplayer was tacked on and horrible, I hope they don't put multiplayer in mass effect 3
That's a bad reason, any game has the potential to make a good multiplayer game and a bad multiplayer game. The Bioshock 2 devs won't have any affiliation to ME3 anyway. Whatever Bioware does, I believe it will ultimately make the game better.
IMO...No i hope they leave MP outta Mass Effect 3, although i thought MP in Bioshock 2 would suck balls, but i really enjoyed it. But I go to mass effect for the story and i stay and replay for the story! Please EA/Bioware or who ever, dont throw MP in ME3. Just focus on the kick arse single player experiance.
I can see it now... "I'm Commander Shepard, this is Captain Roscoe, and this is our favorite store on the Cit- Oh sh**, Roscoe just got kicked."
This is such a unneeded thing. Stop giving us what we didn't ask for along with stuff we do ask for. MP is not needed or wanted in ME 3
Maybe a different Coop mode with a different Story and characters.
would be kind of akin to meeting a really good looking dame at a bar, hitting it off with her straight away and then taking her back to your place for some sexy time. So you're getting sensual and she seems disarmingly eager, so you follow the signs and slowly slide your hand into her panties... only to discover the horrifying revelation that "she" has a proper chubby going on and it's bigger than yours. So yeah, bit of an unwanted guest.
I'd be ok with ME3 having multiplayer if it is on a separate disc. It doesn't matter, Mass Effect is a huge franchise in EA's eyes and I know they won't make any risks they're not sure about. That said, I have heard multiple times of people saying they are not gonna buy ME2 because of the lack of multiplayer so a multiplayer mode could raise sails.
nooooooooooooooo keep that shit out of my mass effect you put multiplayer in then you take out the space that could of been used to make the single player longer, im unlikely to play the multiplayer 24/7 so it would be a waste of thier money and mine to some extent
NO multiplayer of any kind in ME3.. confirmed by Bioware here: http://social.bioware.com/f... “Now that BioWare has officially announced Mass Effect 3 with their press release yesterday, I’m going back to my age-old thread closer here: Mass Effect 3 is a single-player game.” I would much rather they wait until the trilogy is over for MP. Dedicate a game to it rather than tacking it on. ;)
why does everyone think MP instantly means FFA or TDM? Co-op would be GREAT for ME3 as you are NEVER alone anyway. Borderlands is the perfect example to follow...
Co-op would be cool if it was done correctly but it would be weird to have two Shepards. Competitive multiplayer is not needed, it would just waste Bioware's time from creating an epic single player campaign. Bioshock 2 is an example.
I really couldn't care if ME has MP or not. That's not why it's my favourite series in the last decade or so. However, if the MP development doesn't interfere with the overall quality of the single player, and if the MP componant turns out to be quality too, then there is nothing to complain about. It only adds more value and more game time on ME3. I wouldn't say it's unwelcome, but it certainly isn't needed.
Sheeeeeesh people, Bioware confirmed that there will be no multiplayer mode in Mass Effect 3 on their forums almost 2 months ago.
ME3's multiplayer either go the way of Uncharted 2 where the multiplayer was destined to fail but ended up succeeding (even after the 1.05+ update since I still am hooked to the multiplayer) or it's going to be a complete and utter failure. I would suggest drop-in/drop-out co-op for multi if it wants to succeed but otherwise I have no hopes for the game if they include multiplayer similar to CoD (shudders).
i prefer for them to concentrate on the single player experience then to split between multi and single player. Just look at dead space 2 the multi completely sucks in it and its there cause people demanded multi-player in the game.
Unwanted Guest or more precicely the Unwanted Guest that goes into your house, eats all your food, takes a dump on the dining table and then fucks your sister
Don't want. HOWEVER if you mean Co-op I could use some of that, but the game better be made from the ground up for this kind of thing. The game almost always seemed ready for that, remember they are using the Unreal engine so it wouldn't be a stretch. But pure multiplayer, can suck a hairy Krogan nut.
Two words: F*ck. Off. Enough time, resources and effort has been wasted trying to turn this game into something brainless shooter parasites will enjoy. How about designing ME3 around the concept the game started with. You know, the one that wasnt about fucking dumbed down, visceral shooter combat, but about an intense, deep space opera. Put aside your greed please, and give this series a send off it deserves. Maybe then it might justify some of the bullshit hyperbole spouted about how its "revolutionary". A flawed but wonderful shooter/RPG, a dumbed down but polished shooter centric sequel, and a cheap, greed driven multiplayer shoehorned finale arent revolutionary. Keep the money, time, resources and effort you would WASTE on a shitty multiplayer designed for cretins, and spend it on making sure the story of Mass Effect 3 and the decsisons made throughout the game (mainly in ME1) end up working together in the best possible way.
