Stalker had great hit detection, the gunplay was more realistic than in most shooters. Bullets shot from different guns reacted a little more like in real life. A pistol will not be something you can use to kill someone a km away, you need to be close.

Hope you play on something harder than "easy" difficulty.

The weapon accuracy scales to the difficulty. Easier difficulty actually has less accurate guns (making the enemies less accurate, but your accuracy suffers too)

Stalker has some of my favorite shooting mechanics in their games. Recoil, gravity, and travel time.
I also like the shooting in Tripwire's games.

My only concern is the shooting system,as hard as it seemed at first, every firefight felt satisfyingly; something I hadn't experienced since the first COD4. I hope the shooting stays the same

As for the dx11, didn't COP use a modified engine that let it use dx11?

Because the Xbox360 and PS3 do not support this feature in Hardware at all and most game developers just settle for DX9 for multi-plats and make the PC version mostly the same...
Maybe adding DX11 support later on instead of having it built from the ground up.
It's called "CURSING THE PC" due to consoles.

OMFG! I can't wait! I'm currently playing Shadow of Chernobyl with Stalker Complete 2009 mod. I'm going to work my way through the series. I'm having a lot of fun so far. I want to use my tax return to build a Sandy Bridge PC in the coming months so I can play all the awesome PC games coming out!

its not. the devs said themselves. And the only difference between pc and console for gaming alone is 1. the controller(pad or mouse/kb) which i find absolutely funny that i wrecked people on some games with the help of Motionjoy. 2 upgradeable hardware which is a plus I admit. But all games will not match up with some peoples setups. Not an issue with consoles. 3 OMG DA GRAFIXXXX. yes pc has better graphics and framerate. I would trade all that away for great sony and nintendo exclusives. 4 The only reason i say Pc is superior in any way is Mod support. With out that some games are pretty bad with out them. Stalker Complete 2009 imo is way better than vanilla. 5 Dedicated servers for multiplayer. that is all.../rant

Sorry boss but we've been through that same song and dance. Just about every dev and publisher has said that and fallen short. Being a pc gamer myself I fully expect a watered down for console version.

Same goes for bf3, deus, mechwarrior. Blizz and valve are the only two who get a free pass.

You missed one thing: The User-interface.
Although it is linked to controls since a mouse/keyboard allows for a more complex UI allowing for a deeper gameplay experience.

They'll have to do an over-haul of the inventory system to make it control-pad friendly... something like DeadSpace's UI. Or resort to doing what most other games have done by pausing the action like Fallout3/NV...
Which would be a let down since the real-time inventory really helped make the game tense.

Also, I wonder how they'll manage to get the open levels to work on the consoles. The previous games ate through system ram, partly because of all the things the game kept track of everything. Either that's getting scrapped or they're really working on the optimization.
... or they're going to focus on more underground locations and fog up everything outside. =/

as for pc, well, that's always next gen.

pc- it actually does everything

ps3- it does a hell of a lot- but a lot of what it does is 720p

xbox360- it does multiplats and paid subs....ohhh and gears of war3

This is my game right here.

Console users rejoice as you guys get a chance to play a masterpiece but if you got a PC with some balls I suggest the PC version.

more X-labs and more underground levels is what I want as those areas really bring out the "Oh Shit Moments and soiled underwear". A great balance to the open and free to roam madness of The Zone.

It sucks that the Faction Wars didn't make it as I liked that in Clear Sky (although it turned the game into one long ass round of Modern Warfare) and it was a nice change from SOC to COP as it really made your decisions have consequences. Bandits and Duty can all burn in hell.

Yep has to be played on my pc. My consoles wont be able to come close to what my pc can do with this game and crysis 2 x16 Anisotropic Filtering x8 AA, max mipmap detail level, then turn on the crossfire and goodtimes. My consoles has to sit this baby out pc all the way.
