Video Game Console Hacking: Where Do You Stand?

After 4 years, it appears as if hackers now finally have all the tools they need to completely crack the PS3 wide open. As a computer guy, I am impressed by the accomplishment and respect the time and effort that they have put into achieving this feat. That is pretty much where my admiration ends because while I don’t necessarily agree with what Sony did in removing the “Install Other OS” feature, I do respect that it’s their product and they want to do what they feel is in the best interest of the platform. Most non-gamers still don’t understand the minds and hearts of gamers and the majority of them would probably think that most gamers support this kind of activity, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. (PS3, Wii, Xbox 360)

I dont care, the companys still makes billions in profit every year.A video game hacker will only cost them a pocket change to there end of the year profit. As for me it dose not bother me at all, as long as i get my games to play im a happy gamer.

Don't play with hacks online and I got no problem with it.

When people say "is hacking wrong", it really depends on how hacking is being defined.

True hacking is awesome and not about piracy. It's about skill, discovery, information sharing and education.

Piracy is harmful.

I know many people reading this won't understand what I'm saying, and if that's you, go read Open Source For Dummies.

For me, it depends. As long as they are not playing with hacks online, or pirating, I don't have a problem with it.
