More Metal Gear Solid games confirmed by Hideo Kojima

Yes... Today a Dutch game site posted their interview with Hideo Kojima himself. When the following question was asked, he said:

Gamert: Hoe moeilijk is het om vaarwel te zeggen tegen een serie die zo sterk een onderdeel van jezelf geworden is?

Kojima: Eigenlijk ben ik helemaal niet verdrietig, het is niet moeilijk voor me omdat ik denk dat Metal Gear voortgezet gaat worden, net als bijvoorbeeld James Bond. Het enige verschil is dat ík de details niet meer zal verzorgen. Dat mag mijn nieuwe staf doen, die mogen –als ze willen- een nieuwe saga creëren rondom Metal Gear, die ik hoogstens produceer. Op een persoonlijk gebied, als ik me een beetje triest voel, dan is het wel omdat ik vaarwel moet zeggen tegen het karakter Solid Snake. Het is een karakter dat ik toch zelf gevormd heb…

Answer Kojima: No, actually not. I believe the MGS range will continue. Just like the James Bond frinchise. This is a job for my new staff and they may use the MGS for a new franchise however they like. I won't be a part of this according the details, but will only be the producer.
The only sad thing is to say goodbye to Solid Snake, because I created that character.

If you are a true fan of MGS then You know Snake must die or Retire forever from MGS series. New sons will be bourn and that was said on a trailer about not passing sins or some like that to our sons. so If he commit suicide it wont be so original unless someone betray him and im very suspicious of otacon.

The point is however he dies Snake will be remember in every heart of a true stealth gamer.

Well, it was always mentioned that Metal Gear would continue as a franchise. Just without Solid Snake(in any appearance chronologically after MGS4, though that wouldn't really matter cause he's gonna die anyway), Hideo Kojima, and Yoji Shinkawa. I hope they finally delve into what made Big Boss completely go evil. Oh and a Metal Gear remake please.

Yes there will be more metal gear, but without Kojima developing it just won't be the same :(

These games would have to somehow be involved with Big Boss or one of his various cloned "Sons of the Boss". Without them there is no Metal Gear Series, since the actual Metal Gear weapon has lost most of it's significance and become more of a sub-plot to the actuall story.

Kratos died like four times. Once when Ares impaled him, another when he jumped off the cliff, yet another when Zeus impaled him, and he died on the inside when he killed his family. Pretty sure he'll die yet again in Chains of Olympus...

This could mean future MGS games will be multiplatform because it won't be the same team working on it. And it won't matter because MGS series will most likely go down hill after MGS4. It was a good franchise for what it was, but im looking for new franchises for the PS3.

well all great things end, and snake is no exception, the only way i see that they could go with metal gear solid, is use raiden, or show big boss on how he became evil, or even solidius, or even liquid before he tryed to kill solid

this game is just amazing - last gen or not - there's no such game on 360 or ps3 yet that can mess with Snake Eater.

everybody who says that Splinter Cell is better than Metal Gear needs to get punches in every part of the face.
