Weirdos begin to queue up for Halo 3

The picture to the right was taken outside the Metreon in San Fransisco on September 11, 2007. If you enlarge the image below, you can see the Halo 3 sign.

Yeah, the Halo junkies are already lining up outside the store to wait for the Halo 3 launch. Two weeks in advance. They are going to stay there for the next 14 days. The reporter aptly describes them as "mass stupidity."

(Don't they have a life or job?!)

Several members have pointed out that the people in the picture were actually in line for Pontiac's invitation-only IMAX screening of Halo 3, which took place at the AMC Metreon in San Francisco on September 11. So they were not lining up two weeks in advance for the Halo 3 launch. Thank goodness!

Interesting and somewhat ironic notes: The Metreon is an entertainment shopping center originally created, owned and managed by... Sony. Sony had intended it to be a theme park and gallery for Sony products and an anchor for strengthening a hip image for the Sony brand. However, Sony sold Metreon to The Westfield Group in February of 2006. People used to line up outside Metreon for the launch of Sony's PlayStation systems; now they line up outside Metreon for the launch of Microsoft's Halo games.

There is no reason to stand in line for a GAME. A system maybe, but not a game. Just show up at a local Wal-Mart at 12am and walk out at 12:05am with the game.

I am just going to wait and go whenever I wake up.

seriously.. two weeks?? cmon I only get two weeks vacation every year, and you better believe im not gonna sit in line for those 2 weeks, its off to another country.. damn when will people learn that this world has a lot more than video games to offer.

pretty sure anyway.... one in SF and one in NY... and it takes place today or tomorrow... don't think they are lined up for the game.... just a chance to play it two weeks earlier... you had to register on-line and then first come, first serve... just an FYI

I LOVE HALO but for god sakes i will get my copy at the exact same time as those guys will. Stupid plain and simple. MS will press 40 bazillion copies of it and if you pre order you WILL get a copy.

ugh. i would beat my face in if I ever did something like this. i don't use my vacation days for anything that deprives me of proper food, showering, and a nice bed.

what i want to know is what the time differential is between waiting in line and getting it the instant it's released and just strolling into your local wal-mart to pick it up, the instant it is released? 5 minutes?

Syko3720d ago (Edited 3720d ago )

I think you know why they need it 5 minutes early(I mean these guys REALLY love Halo), That way they can play at the same time as the rest of the people that buy Halo. ;)

Double Post and I am out of creative things to say about these weirdos. Oh well back to the drawing board.

I bet I'll still be able to walk in the day it releases and buy a copy. All of the crazies will have already picked theirs up at midnight and will already be bleary-eyed by the time I get home from work.

When approached by reporters these strange creatures didn't appear to speak any known human language, they kept repeating "Buy teh Haloz". Also the reporters noted that the beasts stunk of mom's basement and were loaded down with 20 sided dice. Thankfully however they appear to be harmless and run at the first sign of danger.

Stay tuned for further reports.
