10,000 US Retailers to open for Halo midnight launch

More than 10,000 retailers in the United States alone are expected to open their doors at midnight on September 25 to begin selling Halo 3.

One million copies of the game have already been pre-ordered in North America. The company also recently announced pricing for a Halo 3-themed Xbox 360 console.

Halo 2 sold 2.4 million copies and earned up to US 125 million in its first 24 hours on store shelves. Microsoft expects Halo 3's launch to shatter its predecessor's day-one entertainment sales record.

tatotiburon3811d ago

WilliamRLBaker3811d ago

weither halo 3 will be good or how big it is. Which PS game had over 10,000 stores that will normally stay open till after 12 AM just for halo 3 launch...

Chaos Striker3811d ago

Didn't Final Fantasy 12 have a midnight release party at most of the major Gamestops across the US?

PlayStation3603811d ago

actually it did. I should know, I went to it. However, the gamestop I went to really wasn't a party. More of like, get your game and get out. :P

WilliamRLBaker3811d ago

yes because I was at my local gamestop.
But We're talking about confirmed 10,000 stores will stay open *bestbuy,wal-mart,meijer...ect * just to have a launch part for halo 3.

my local meijer is having one, so is my bestbuy, and my wal-mart. Hell I've seen office depots, and staples geting in small supplies of halo 3 to sell *those are office stores not game stores or tech stores!*

I think xbox live is gonna crash the 25 of sept:) with all the people logging onto one game.
Me and 3 other people at meijer all ready have a halo 3 4 player coop group going.

I'm a fan of the series, and yes I agree it probably wont be the greatest game i've ever played. But I never approached any of the Halo games with that expectation, i'm really just looking foward to concluding the story. I love the Halo atmosphere, the plot always has me captivated, I think the saved film feature looks brilliant, and both Halo games carry very fond memories for me.

For me, ther ewas never a moment when I wasn't going to buy it! I'll even be buying a new TV soon to get the most out of it.

toughNAME3811d ago

lol i dont know how i forgot the Saved Flim feature

but yeah i agree with you
I'm not going near matchmaking until i complete the campaign..atleast once

Daewoodrow3811d ago (Edited 3811d ago )

I hope there is a midnight launch in England too. They rarely ever do it here, and i'd like to try it just to say I did.
