And.....GO!! Here come a whole ton of COD hate comments.

But really, if you don't like it, just don't buy it. Is it really necessary to come out from under all those bridges and hate on this game over and over? Like I said: IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T BUY IT. No complaining or trolling necessary. Let those that want to play it be able to view articles about the COD series in peace without 50 irate rants.

Battlefield BC2, for example, is a Fantastic game and a great alternative. Go play that instead of wasting all this time complaining about Black Ops and COD for the thirtieth time in the last 60 days.

Thank you. I'm not personally a fan of COD - I'm more of an RPG gamer - but I don't see any need for the community to continuously bash this game. Let each play what they will without harassment.

Nobody is forced to buy and play a game they don't want to...so why hate on this series endlessly?

jeseth2525d ago

What you are both forgetting is that many COD fans bought this game expecting the same smooth, crisp, and accurate online experience as MW2 ... and Black Ops is a mess online.

Period.

I bought Black Ops just because I figured it would be the same structured game with new/different perks.

What I got was an even shorter single player campaign and an online experience that feels more like a Beta than the 4th iteration of the most popular online console game this gen.

Activision/Treyarch should be held fully accountable for their gimped game and the amount of money this franchise generates and their lack of effort to fix the issues demonstrates their greed even more.

Don't defend them.

@Jeseth

While I agree some are valid complainers most seem to have never played the game (because they are too smart to do that) and then complain/bash.

Some have every right to complain and get frustrated with their online experiences. But most who don't have the game see that and then latch onto that negativity because they simply love to hate the game.

If it was any other game it would be blatant griefing. I can't get into one COD-related thread without having someone diss the lack of skill or talk about how the game sucks.

I like the game.

With that said 1 Billion is ridiculous. They don't deserve it when you consider how much they ride off of the name and not the quality. And there in lies my problem. Activision embodies what gamers hate: doing the least work necessary while making the most profits possible.

Since this isn't about the game and more about the sales I think it's fair game for people to complain about this news.

Nothing new, COD is much more addictive than any other FPS out the because of the arcade feel to it which i luv :)

I dont have the game again.. My little cuzing broke my CD :( so im gonna buy it again for christmas.

PSN ID is jon_abobo add me letsstart WAR :)

FragGen2525d ago

I'm not going to b*tch, I've been an Activision shareholder ever since before the MW2 launch. I love this kind of news.

Christopher2525d ago (Edited 2525d ago )

CoD and Warcraft, the two most lucrative IPs this generation.

@below: Lucrative, as in profitable. Uncharted and GeoW aren't nearly as profitable as either of Activision's titles.

BLACKBOIJONES2525d ago

U forgot to add uncharted and gears of war

jimineyscrickets2525d ago

@ Jeseth

It's not about defending Treyarch or Activision. It's about trolling. How dose ceaselessly ranting on sites unaffiliated with either of those companies make anything better?

Sounds to me like such trolling simply creates argumentation, anger, and makes fans of the series - again, i'm NOT a fan of COD, I'm an RPG gamer - uncomfortable.

TheBlackSmoke2525d ago

LOL @ your pre-emptive damage control.

I dont think anyone hates call of duty just because its call of duty. Pretty much everyone agrees COD4 was an amazing game but I thought a series was supposed to improve not get progressively worse with each iteration.

... And yeah we know COD sells.

GodofSackboy2525d ago

who gives a s**t, it's the Internet, you don't have to be polite or anything. Fighting and stuff is much more fun

Cod is crap

ACTIVISION-Business 101

sell rehashed COD games yearly.

Controversy2525d ago (Edited 2525d ago )

Back, BACK YOU BEAST! Get back under your bridge!

@Pogibaldy - You sir, are on to something; if you don't like Activision or Call of Duty: Black Ops, don't buy it. There is no reason to create a bunch of negative comments about the series for months to come, cluttering forums and making it difficult for those that feel different.

How many months (years?) have people been ranting and raving about this? If someone doesn't like it, do they really need to troll?

AssassinHD2525d ago (Edited 2525d ago )

People keep buying it, so there is no incentive for them to change the formula.

Also, since consumers vote with their wallet, and people keep buying it, then it could be argued that Activision is giving it's customers exactly what they want.

Ducky2525d ago (Edited 2525d ago )

"In all of entertainment, only Call of Duty and Avatar have ever achieved the billion dollar revenue milestone this quickly."

A fitting remark, Mr.Kotick.

Hmm, so roughly, this would be around 17 million copies? I guess that means the gaming economy is healthy.
Hurray.

DigitalRaptor2525d ago (Edited 2525d ago )

I could say that there are far more deserving games and franchises, but not much can stop the force that is Call of Duty and Activision.

Bodster2525d ago

Will this mean better servers and suppport for next years iteration then?

Nope? Didnt think so... :)
