Dead Space 2: Head to Head - X360 vs PS3 (HD 720p)

Ve3tro writes: "The Dead Space 2 demo is now available on PSN and Xbox Live, we've recorded certain scenes throughout the demo and put them head to head in this comparison.

Both versions of the demo look nearly identical with the PS3 version loading quicker than the Xbox 360.

Check out the video below and tell us what you think. "

They both look good and this game is gonna be awesome.

Blacktric2835d ago (Edited 2835d ago )

Yeah, they look exactly the same. Well done Visceral. Wish every developer out there were like you (*cough* Bethesda *cough*).

MmaFanQc2835d ago

DS2 look and play the same, yay.....move on.

ksense2835d ago

people trying to decide on which version do not forget that dead space extraction is also available with ps3 version with move support

DMason2835d ago (Edited 2835d ago )

The problem with getting Extraction though is that you have to buy the collectors edition. Basically you're paying $20 extra to get the collectors. I was going to buy this as my first PS3 multiplatform title but Im not shelling out the extra money for the collectors edition just for the Extraction game. If they offered it as an incentive for buying the PS3 version, Id bite right away.

As per the video, they look exactly the same.

ksense2835d ago

on their website it says if you buy the ps3 limited edition you get extraction and it gives links to gamestop and amazon. amazon doesn't seem to have the limited edition but gamestop does and it is still 59.99

cool cole2835d ago

The limited edition will be the same price as the regular edition, but it's exclusive to PS3.

DMason2835d ago

@all above

The LIMITED EDITION is the same price as the regular, but it comes with a free download of Dead Space: IGNITION.

The COLLECTORS EDITION (which is $20 more) comes with Dead Space: Extraction.

Ive checked everywhere, check yourself.

Wolfie2835d ago

here in Poland we have only Limited Edition (which is exclusive to PS3, price as the regular - 199PLN , with DS: Extraction and code for DS:Ignition) and collectors edition with DS: Extraction, DS:Ignition, soundtrack and DLC codes for weapons, armors etc
(price 239pln)

I'm getting Limited Edition, great deal for ps3 owners!

cool cole2835d ago

"NOTE: All releases of Dead Space 2 for PlayStation 3 include the bonus game Dead Space: Extraction, at no extra cost. Consumers do not need to look for a separate Special Edition of the game."

Yeah, both versions look great (at least from this video). You gotta give props to the studio for that.

I haven't played the Dead Space games yet. I loved the moving comics they did for the first Dead Space though. I really wanted to get it but I didn't like the demo, now that 2 is coming out I might have to catch up.

Koolno2835d ago (Edited 2835d ago )

It's good to see good multi, but in fact Ps3 version should be better in a perfect world (based on exclusives graphics) ;)

but graphics is not all that count, and the game/the demo, is really great !

egidem2835d ago (Edited 2835d ago )

I just finished the demo and I can tell you a few things:

1) I was not used to the sudden change of controls the RB/RT were exchanged as well as the LB/LT felt awkward at first.

2) Isaac Clarke can TALK! It feels weird hearing him talk, but it's an awesome addition.!

3) The game is DEFINITELY SCARIER, and HARDER! Enemies will suddenly surprise you and just attack in large numbers. New enemies, new death ways, more gore, more blood. all awesome. Also Isaac's long retarded swinging move of a melee attack has been shortened to make things quicker.

4) Hitting the LS button makes Isaac float in Zero is awesome to look at as you can like hover around like a space ship.

5) I love the new shop interface. Kind of cleaner than the first one.

6) If a weapon runs out of ammo (with none left in your inventory), Isaac immediately switches right next to the next weapon with ammo. I find this to be very useful.

7) I wish I had a taste of what the multiplayer felt like and I hope it's just fun. I look forward to 25th Jan. 2011!

NecrumSlavery2835d ago

Wow, I haven't played the demo yet but it sounds really good and this video shows that both versions are 100% the same. Great multiplat.

@ egidem

Others may feel different, but I was in the MP Beta and it was garbage. I really would love a Horde mode or Co-op/Team Survival or Missions modes, but this Death-match crap was terrible and I hated it to death. The Campaign though, still looks amazing.

egidem2835d ago (Edited 2835d ago )

Overall, I can tell you that the demo is pretty sweet and awesome. I look forward to the game, but not sure about the multiplayer.

Wait, there's no survival mode or something like taking on waves of oncoming enemies??!? You have to be joking right?? If there's any place to have endless waves of enemies with your buddies trying to hold everything off, it's dead space!! It's perfectly built for this kind of stuff...Damn, I'm a little bit disappointed.

NecrumSlavery2835d ago

I can't say if there will be. So please don't quote me on that. The Beta only was team deathmatch. Creatures VS Soldiers, and it was lame and unbalanced as hell. But a mode of waves or getting from point A to B in a team would be really awesome.

oops out of bubbles...

egidem2835d ago

I hope so...I guess we're gonna have to wait and see. I can already see the campaign to be awesome. I hope it is longer than Dead Space 1's. I am getting the PS3 version this way I can play Dead Space Extraction as well.

Jaces2835d ago

That's all I wanted for the second DS, thank you so much for clarifying that. Now I really can't wait to get my copy! :D

both versions looks awesome

Koolno2835d ago (Edited 2835d ago )

..for a multi, yes, the game is really great !

"Both versions are almost identical. Very nice work. I wish all multiplatform games were like this."

They are almost every time identical, but ps3 should look better with more time and ressources.

Really a demo comparison? >.> Only from V3tro...

deadreckoning6662835d ago

I don't see what the point of comparing two DEMOS are. Isn't the point to help multiconsole owners decide which version to get? A demo isn't always indicative of a game's final version.

Venatus-Deus2835d ago

Come on... Like you don't know comparisons are just to generate hits.

Nobody's really trying to help others make an informed decision.

Ve3tro2835d ago (Edited 2835d ago )

Only from Ve3tro? It's the first demo comparison I've done..

KiRBY30002835d ago

good job on the comparison man, dont worry about what N4G people says...

Black-Helghast2835d ago

Ignore them man, you did an awesome job. I would like to see some more. :)

Both versions are almost identical. Very nice work. I wish all multiplatform games were like this.

Fishy Fingers2835d ago

Looks pretty much identical for me.

Of course, this might change when using screen grabs at 400X zoom.
