"And the Award for the Most Disappointing Game of 2010 goes to..."- GameState
My most disapointing was def BLOPs. I cant wait for that next patch.
Why, it's not bad by any means?! I mean, not so bad that it's the most disapointing game of 2010?!
The SP was good, but the MP is a complete waste and thats all I really wanted from it.
MoH is most disappointing? like seriously?
I was quite disappointed by Enslaved. amazing cast, writers and production - but a game that pretty much held your hand the entire way. It's like they wanted to tell the player a story - but the game play got in the way so they stripped it down to bare essentials.
Ye, thanks for that. I agree really. I think it was impressive for the fact that it was a new IP and had no previous standards to live up to.
It is not about being a new IP and not having previous standards to live up to. It's about making a good game. You not going to say that its okay Sony or MS screwed up but it is okay because they are delivering a new IP and therefore there are no standards to live up to. You going to say there are 100's of great games that the new IP could have lived up to and it didn't. This is what the truth is. NT have made games before. They made a pretty decent game called heavenly Sword (which was let down by repetitous gameplay). This is something they could have aimed for and improved on, which they didn't. Uncharted was a new IP at one stage and that did very well. Fable was a new IP once and it did very well and as such many new IP's have done well since they have been crafted properly. In short - there are no excuses for poor gameplay.
Yeah. Medal of Honor was quite a disappointment considering the previous games. I was really hoping for a Call of Duty contender from MoH but alas, 'twas not meant to be.
I still have a secret hope that it's going to be better in future. Looking forward to the next one!
It can be better. The team just needs to learn from these mistakes and find solutions for the problems. It could be awesome.
Also, The Force Unleashed 2 should have kinda had a tie with MoH. I really enjoyed the first one and was excited for the sequel but when I played it...meh
Dude, as a reviewer, I'm SO tired of the mediocre. FU2 was just that: Dull and mediocre. I wanna see love and pride in developers games. These days, for the most part, profit margins and short term profits are far more important than quality and love in a game. This needs to change fast...
I couldn't agree more. Games are pushed for release dates because of money being the only concern. Developers need time to make really good games and that is what they should be given. They need to focus on their consumers, listen to their fans and not rush a project. But even then, the game shouldn't be mediocre. Games that feel unfinished don't go down well with fans.
As a footy lover I'e got to say that FIFA 11 managed to be pretty disappointing. Especially after the phenomenal game that FIFA 10 was. Luckily Konami seems to have hit their stride again with PES 2011 so I'm still getting my footy gaming fix.
Couldn't be closer to the truth. After playing PES 2010 I have to say I was disappointed, and shockingly surprised by how good FIFA actually was that year. For once my brothers blinding love to the EA sports mammoth was spot on. This year however his beleif that "It beencalled FIFA must equals it best football game period" did nothign but fool his eyes from the truth. PES 2011's new animations and engine (not to mention "as close as you'll get to a camera operator" replays)and OTT customization was far and above what FIFA offered. Sure FIFA had higher res models and textures, but that didn't mean squat since they all moved like lifeless robots with clunky slow animations and a bad case of the uncanny valley. And PES also had better gameplay :D
SWFU2 nearly kills the series for me. If this is the crap they're gonna churn out then count me out! One stage is literally 20 steps and a video (Dagobah). IMHO it's an insult to gamers everywhere, they give you 40% of a game and charge full price then milk DLC that should have been in the game (sometimes day 1 or announced before the games done). I got it during a buy 2 get 1 sale as my free game and I still feel cheated! GOD HELP anyone who pays $60 for it.
Medal of Honor wasnt THAT disappointing. The SP was fun, but the multiplayer is a little bad since you die as soon as you respawn, and the maps are filled with camp places.
FF13 was the biggest dissapointment for me.
Not for them or me though.
Medal of Honor was Epic Fail for me
I would have to say Bioshock 2. It was still a good game but a massive step down from the original.
LOL at all those "records" it was supposed to break but didn't, this 8.4 (realy just a 6) game should go on the all time wall of sh** I mean shame.
I was thinking of a clever reply for you but you pretty much just owned yourself. GT5 was far from sh!t but seeing that you are a fanboy of another console you wouldn't know. god, fanboys of any console is one of the reasons that gaming is suffering because they are freaking narrow minded!
Naughty Bear most disappointing in my opinion... I also don't see why GT is on the list. GT4 has an 88 on metacritic... GT5 has an 85... that's only room for minor disappointment given the standard set by the last title in the series. Blackops however... MW2 is a 95... BlackOps is 89... that's 6. Thereby a greater disappointment relative to the standards set by the past title in the series. My bigger disappointment, however. SWTFU2, Naughty Bear, or FO:NV are the biggest disappointments of the year, for sure.
Medal of Honor most disappointing? wrong, i loved it even more than black ops, i dont know why its got so much hate. i think it is a fantastic game.
