Destructoid reviews Stranglehold: 4.5 / 10

So, here's the thing. The majority of gamers have already decided whether or not they're going to purchase Stranglehold. If anything, the question of whether or not to buy seems like a no-brainer. More after the jump.

Wow, I believe this is the lowest score the game has recieved so far and totally unfair IMO. First the hate Mass Effect demo and now this? I'm beginning to suspect Destructoid's taste.

Well Game revolver also slated it giving it a C- (same score as L.A.I.R)

Whereas OPMuk (who surprising for an official mag are fair and unbised for reviews) gave it an 8.

If you like action games, this game is awesome! It's superb at what it does, at being a shoot 'em up. Maybe Destructoid thought they were reviewing an rpg, I don't know. People should take Stranglehold for what it is - Mindless over-the-top action at it's best. Not much of a story and some complain that it only takes 7-8 hours to finish. To me it has great replay value, I've been playing the same levels over and over again just to try to do things I missed the first time.

I played the demo on PSN, and about after playing it for about 15 minutes, I quit and deleted the Demo because it sucked so bad. Some of the slow motion stuff was ok, but it got old fast. It reminded me of Enter the Matrix a little but worse, and everyone knows how that game did.... unfortunately. I felt like I killing the same damn 5 guys 100 times.... I give it a 5/10

You know Enter The Matrix sold 5 million. That's a whole lot.

To compare Halo sold over 5 million, Metal Gear Solid 2 sold 7 million and MGS3 sold almost 4 million.

I was excited for the demo...played it but it seemed like dudes never stopped showing up. To me that isn't that fun to just run n' gun with a little table sliding. Not going to be putting any more time into this game.
