The UK's biggest high street gaming store GAME, continues to see profits drop as second hand game purchases rise. Is £30-£40 too much for a brand new game?
I used to shop at GAME quite frequently, but sometimes their prices are just too high. Often I can visit play.com, or other online retailers, and find the game for a lot cheaper. Saying this I have just bought a couple games from them, as I used up the rest of my GAME card points. The thing is though that when you shop and gain your points, you think that you are going to save money in the long run. But instead of saving points you may as well just go to somewhere that sells the stuff cheaper, and get your money off straight away.
I totally agree, buying online is usually cheaper and more convenient. I cannot remember the last time I bought a new game from the highs street. I only trade in games at the outlets, everything else is too expensive in my opinion.
$60 after 5 years into this console gen is too much for a game - we should be paying $30 for a brand new game at this point.
£10 cheaper and more often in stock when purchased online. Bubye game! x
