They failed to mention The PSeye has full body tracking capability as well depending on the software =)

Washington Post. Doubt they know much about gaming anyway.

Negative for Move: "Still using a controller"

Clearly they don't understand the purpose

Statix2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

The fact that they list "there's a controller" as a "negative" is by far the biggest joke of the entire s*** excuse of an article. Yes, there is still a controller; Sony INTENDED it to be like that. You know, so you can do all sorts of advanced and nuanced things that you wouldn't otherwise be able to do?

Sounds like the author completely bought into the $500 million dollar Microsoft hype campaign that hammered "You ARE the controller" into people's brains.

Don't get me wrong, I still haven't bought a PS Move OR a Kinect, and I think both are kinda useless peripherals for a hardcore gamer like myself. But I think I know what is the better, more functional peripheral when I see it. One device is selling because it has some decent utility and precision to it; the other device is selling because Microsoft spent half a billion dollars promoting it like it's the second coming.

Ryudo2634d ago

No need to get so aggressive over it, you don't have to be well informed to have an opinion on something.

Why I do agree listing no controller as a negative is nonsense does it really matter?

I mean who on earth goes to the washington post for there daily gaming fix?

mikeslemonade2634d ago

I'd get both because they actually work and are fun. Don't get the Wii though.

Game-ur2634d ago

@Statix
This article is probably part of the 500m$ campaign.

the biggest fail is listing Harry Potter as a good Kinect game, and not mentioning sports champions time crisis and tumble as good move games, they are better reviewed than any of Kinect games.

ChristianGamer2634d ago

Lol game-ur, take that tin foil hat off

darthv722634d ago

both offer different experiences and will have games tailored for each. That is...if you own both.

If you only own one then get the one for the system owned. Neither are considered system switchers so it is pretty easy to understand.

And yes, I agree that WP may NOT be the place for people like us to get our info. Millions of others out there who dont know about n4g or ign or kotaku (etc), however do. Sad but true.

Lich1202634d ago

Get neither so this motion gaming crap can die a slow death. People were finally starting to see through the Wii and then Sony and MS have to go and ruin it.

Exactly. The PS Move has far more "capability" than the Kinect.

For example, you can do all sorts of things besides waving your arms around in the air like a lunatic.

EDIT: Oh wait, you can control and rewind Netflix videos with your hand also. And control SOME limited parts of the 360 dashboard. Because allowing you to control ALL of the 360 dashboard is asking too much.

All with questionable responsiveness and precision, and noticeable lag, of course.

rlm412634d ago

Like use the damn thing as a dildo? :S

VINNIEPAZ2634d ago (Edited 2634d ago )

"For example, you can do all sorts of things besides waving your arms around in the air like a lunatic."

Yes because out of the Kinect games I've played so far all I had to do was wave my arms like a lunatic. GTFO Troll

EDIT @StatixTroll

"Don't get me wrong, I still haven't bought a PS Move OR a Kinect, and I think both are kinda useless peripherals for a hardcore gamer like myself. But I think I know what is the better, more functional peripheral when I see it. One device is selling because it has some decent utility and precision to it; the other device is selling because Microsoft spent half a billion dollars promoting it like it's the second coming."

So in short we should listen to a guy that HAS NOT even played Kinect or Move yet and also shows hate to MS because they spent money on a product they make (talk about stupid business right?)

You are the perfect example of somebody that REALLY needs to GTFO of these articles

Marceles2634d ago

Just when I thought the world was finally over the dildo joke, someone else has to try to resurrect it...sigh

showtimefolks2634d ago

so what teh gt5 hate article are over tahnks god

end of the day both of these are towards casual market move will have more hardcore titles

for us

as long as both sony and MS don't forget the reason/and people who brought them to this point we will be fine

give us games AAA games

DuneBuggy2634d ago

Another thing they failed to mention is you need a PS3 on top of the Move device.Since its pretty obvious this is a "guide" for the videogame uninformed, it would have been important to mention it like they did with kinect.
