Hahaha, now that GT5 has damage they're complaining that it's too severe.

Dnied2756d ago

wow you're right LOL

the hell is wrong with these ppl

GrieverSoul2756d ago

My friend, GT5 is one of those games that its "cool" to hate! It garantees hits!

Although, everyone complains, 75% of my PSN friends list are playing it! I never saw that besides the usual CoD annual milking. GT is huge no matter what the haters say!

hay2756d ago (Edited 2756d ago )

Lol. Those people aren't gamers or reviewers. They are haters.
And haters gonna hate.

nix2755d ago

lol... i was worried about them complaing... what a joke!

ShinMaster2755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

Wow are these people serious? First it's too lenient, now it's too severe?

P.S. Is the aesthetic/visual damage a little more severe too?
Might just be me, but I noticed yesterday that it was less forgiving.

OneSneakyMofo2755d ago

Another day, another hate article. Move along.

ExplosionSauce2755d ago

I think mechanical damage is much more important to the gameplay than the visual damamge, because obviously, scratches and dents don't change anything.

But now with this, there's a reason why NOT to crash.

JohnSimpleTon2755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

My god you people are ridiculously sensitive about this game. I actually read straight through that article and not a single negative thing was spoken aside from a detailed explanation of the damage (did you people actually read it or simply followed the next guy's comment). Sure the writer expressed a desire for a medium option but I don't understand how you guys interpreted this as an attack. They gave this game a 9.2 for gosh sakes o_O.

Dee_912755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

lmao
noobs

john simple ton ... there is a medium option ..

Chuk_Chuk2755d ago

"an effect that would require a speed of about 80-100MPH in light damage will need only a 35-40MPH crash with the Heavy option."

This bit made me lol. Guess its to realistic for some

Adam Barnes is a total c**k.

They give you what you wanted and you still find a way to complain.

BTW crashing at 40mph will write of any car. You certainly will not be driving it home. 80mph will likely kill you.

HellzAssassin2755d ago

Agreed.
I was in my first car accident and I collided with the car in front of me at 35-40MPH (On the highway, so it was an inevitable crash when going 65-70MPH...) and my car was totaled... So yes, the mechanical damage in GT5 is spot on. The aesthetic damage is shit, no matter what people say.
Despite that, I do love GT5, and it's probably one of my top favorite games this generation. I'm literally addicted to it... x_O

fastrez2755d ago

@Hay that makes no sense. They loved GT5, they scored it 9.4 out of 10.

What was your point again?

Nineball21122755d ago

Fastrez, I've seen you defend NowGamer several times now.

Give us full disclosure here, do you work for them or are you affiliated with them in anyway?

Curious minds want to know...

DigitalAnalog2755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

THIS is what's WRONG with the gaming media. I can make a review of Halo: Reach giving it an astounding 9.8 out of 10 and at the same time stating it didn't do anything new and the graphics are just 1% different from Halo 3, poorer AI, unoriginal characters and the like.

If there's one thing I've learned about GT5, the discrepancy between score and review content could not have been more apparent. It seems like anyone can write a garbage review as long as they can fluctuate their score to appease/piss off the masses for HITS. I'd bet my money this wouldn't be the case if they didn't have any ad-revenue supporting them.

monkpunk12755d ago

i hope they break their arms and may the fleas of a thousand camels infest their arses..... its still optional! FFS looks like the trend for gaming "so called" journos is to bash everything and anything GT related.

Vesemir2755d ago

Yeah.. They should know that in REAL LIFE the smallest of collisions already take the racer out of businness.

They complained like spoiled little kids, now they got what they deserved.

JohnSimpleTon2755d ago

@Dmarc

Dude, as far as I know there are three mechanical damage options. No damage, Light Damage and Heavy Damage. If you want to count light as medium simply because it's the second of three then be my guest, but by definition, medium damage does not exist with this patch. Hopefully I got disagrees for offending those that couldn't read and not for stating the truth.

GiggMan2756d ago

This goes to show that people (at least in the gaming industry) are never satisfied....

TimmyShire2755d ago

I disagree. I think it's good to look at things critically, since otherwise we'll never get any kind of pressure to make something truly perfect.

I think this is just one stage of Yamauchi making a game as perfect as it can be, and if no one is critical then there will be no need for improvement.

That's just my two cents anyway...

GiggMan2755d ago

It's perfectly okay to be critical, but when people want realistic damage and then complain that hitting a wall shouldn't cause them to loose the race, that's just stupid nit-picking.

karl2755d ago

@timmyshire

i totally agree..

GT5 isnt the perfect driving simulators.. but thats why im buying GT6 aswell

that said u can be a severe critic .. but there is no need to be an ass...

all this GT5 trashing articles are there to try and humiliate the game... its fanbase doesnt care

but they keep trying.. and even though u are right they dont do it thinking... oh there is still room for improvement in the best racing simulator there is

they think... wow its really good.. lets write a review to make it look like shit!...

. this guys are unbelievable.

Ducky2755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

I didn't really see any Gt5 bashing in the article.

They described the two damage modes and gave their oppinion, and said that a medium-damage mode for online would be a welcome addition so that it is more punishing than the 'light' model but not as hardcore as the 'heavy' damage mode.

If Kaz listens and adds in another damage mode, then it only makes the game better, right?
If he doesn't the game is still a bowl of awesomesauce.

Lunatic_Brandon2756d ago

I can't understand how a racing sim was released without mechanical damage but this makes no sense either.

Dr-Zoidberg2756d ago

What part of mechanical damage doesn't make sense?

tudors2756d ago

"the mechanical damage is temporary. After 20-25 seconds, any damage taken will be miraculously repaired and your vehicle will be as good as new"

Strange.

Dr-Zoidberg2756d ago

Then switch to hard mode, it is more of a penalty to stop people crashing into you on purpose.

dirthurts2756d ago

That's not very sim like...

Dr-Zoidberg2756d ago (Edited 2756d ago )

Light mode, no not very sim like but hard mode is for those that want a sim experience. Way better than Forza rewind option...yeah because I can rewind time.

Nitrowolf22756d ago (Edited 2756d ago )

You should read the article same for the guy above. That is for light damage and if any of you own the game and tried it out it clearly states that damage is repaired shortly whereas
Heavy Damage the damage does not repair unless you stop in the pitstop.

See i knew that some would complain about this. They wanted it and now they have it.

Dr-Zoidberg2756d ago (Edited 2756d ago )

Yes there is a light mode option or light damage whatever you want to call it! I do own the game and it is a fantastic game and PD have done damage really good job so I don't see why you think I have not read the article.

Nitrowolf22755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

it wasn't aimed at you ryesher, at the time i was typing that comment up you had already posted your comment (one right above mine but below dirts), but i didn't have the page refreshed with it yet. This comment was targeted at
Dirthirts and
Tudors

sorry for the misunderstanding

dirthurts2755d ago

"That's not very sim like"
Why is everyone so defensive? I didn't insult the game, the developers or anyone in here...
I just stated the obvious about the odd inclusion of a regenerating health option in a sim game.
Sure it helps for making the game more accessible but I could have thought of better options.

Scotland-The-Brave2755d ago

There is a better option its called heavy damage, you can choose what you want, sim like or not.

Dnied2756d ago

To me this is smarter than rewind for casuals, it gives everyone a bit of a challenge but its still not as forgiving as a rewind function, rewind is striaght up cheap lol I think this is a good compromise, 20-25 seconds will still screw you over in the race yet the ppl that cry over full damage will still get a chance to come back

Ducky2755d ago (Edited 2755d ago )

... but these damage modes are for online only.

I don't think Rewind worked in online races for forza (Never played it, but pulling off rewinds in a multiplayer game sounds technically difficult to pull off).
... Would be hilarious if it did though.

DigitalAnalog2755d ago

Please don't pretend the "un-Strange" option exist.
