Every racer has a cockpit view now. Shift 2 raises the immersion bar with a view mode that puts you inside a professional racer's helmet.
I'd like to see it for myself. Sounds pretty damn cool.
Cool? Definitely. Practical for a game? Hell no. I think the helmet would get in the way. Sometimes I wear a chinless helmet because the buckets are unwieldly. I've never driven with a helmet on but I would think that your FOV would be decreased dramatically, and in a game where it's harder to have depth perception than in real life, a narrow FOV would be awful. Oh.. and chinless helmet is like a Cromwell Spitfire helmet without the chin guard, while a bucket is full face helmet covering the jawline and chin. I'm a rider.
Umm...wtf? Why does it matter whether your helmet is chinless or not? its a game...not real life, you don't wear a helmet...to play this game
GT5 may be The Real Driving Simulator, but SHIFT 2 seems like The Real Racing Simulator! Can't wait.
It looks very interesting. Looking forward to this one.
Was Shift (1) a sim? No. Was it fun? Yes. Skeptical this one will be any more of a simulator.
shift vs gt5?? no - shift vs grid?? yes
Indeed, both are arcade games with Simulation elements, but are not basic Simulators like GT5.
The first Shift was incredible. Many games have adopted the cockpit view thanks to it. I can't wait to see what this new game has to offer.
I actually thought Prologue was one of the first to take the cockpit view to the next level.. shift came out in 2009 it's entirely possible that EA had no intentions of cockpit view until they saw it in prologue Just guessing of course, but i Do no prologue was out WELL before shift, there may even be other games before prologue but I'm not aware of em
Shift had the best cockpit experience I've seen thus far... looking forward to this.
