The first step in creating a new Need for Speed game is making sure the screenshots look amazing. Slightly Mad Studios nails it with these screens for Shift 2 Unleashed.
It looks alot like the first Shift .. except more grittier & dirty.
This game does look like a huge improvement from the first one. Should be a great racing game. In car view is unrivalled experience.
Unrivaled in-car view hands down. The devs took inspiration straight from Mirror's Edge, according to an early interview of the first Shift.
wow ,this is the best looking racing game from EA by far
I dunno, Hot Pursuit is pretty darn fun! :)
I remember the fake screens that were released for the first game and fanboys were screaming about how impressive the graphics were when they were mediocre . Anyway, its a multiplatform game so expect a mediocre game at best .
What's funny is how you say multiplatform games are mediocre, yet some of the best games this generation are multiplatform. Not only that, but the whole "fake screens" somewhat reminds me of Gra- oh, nevermind. I really don't feel like starting some flame war. @Pyscho_Mantis Actually, if we focus on this generation alone, there are alot, ALOT of incredible games that are multiplatform. I'm too lazy to do a list, but honestly? just look at your game collection. There's at least a good chunck of multiplatforms in there. On a side-note: Games like God of War, Gears of War, MGS4 (Emphazis on "4", IMO it's the worst the series have to offer), Halo and GTA don't quite fit my tastes. In fact, my game collection consists of mostly multiplatforms because of that. Games like Bioshock, Dead Space, Burnout Paradise, Red Dead Redemption, Bayonetta, Vanquish...ehm, just to name some, are of the best titles this generation has to offer.
no say it cuz the cockpit view in GT5 is so much more better. And the greatest franchises are exclusive or once were: Gran Turismo Halo Uncharted God of War GTA (was exclusive) MGS4 Gears of War
Exclusives aren't really that must better than multiplats. It's just the hype either side gives them because they want something to brag about for their system. Though, some exclusives get an advantage by only having to focus on one system, but for each exclusive, there is another multiplat that was equally mind-blowing. With that said, *puts on fanboy hat* the best exclusive ever is STALKER!!
Neckbear On a side-note: Games like God of War, Gears of War, MGS4 (Emphazis on "4", IMO it's the worst the series have to offer), Halo and GTA don't quite fit my tastes. so you are saying that hack & slash, 3rd person cover shooter, stealth action, fps, and open world games don't suit your taste? What games do suit your taste? Only racers and rpg? Seems to me like you just have a thing against exclusives. Bioshock was decent, Dead Space were excellent, Burnout Paradise is just fun, Red Dead was very good, Bayonetta (meh), Vanquish (meh). These might be the best multiplats this gen has to offer but the exclusives you mentioned are better than these imo. Also don't tell me you missed out on Uncharted 1 and 2, Killzone 2, Valkyria Chronicles, Demons Souls, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Motorstorm 1 and 2, Heavy Rain, GT5, Warhawk, Mag
I don't judge games for the genre, I judge the game itself. You could say I hated God of War, but I love DMC and Bayonetta. I dislike Gears of War, yet I like Uncharted and Vanquish. I hated GTAIV, yet I liked Red Dead Redemption (Oh, the irony here). I didn't like MGS4, yet I loved the other entries of the series. I don't like genres, I like the games themselves. Two games might share the same genre, however, one suits my tastes and the other doesn't, since one is fast, frenetic and fun, while the other is MASSHH SQUAAREEEE. I'm open minded when it comes down to genres, after all. Edit: Also, I do NOT have a thing against exclusives. As I said, a good lot of them don't suit my tastes. I played (and loved) Uncharted 1 and 2, Mass Effect 1 and 2, Valkyria Chronicles and Demon's Souls. Games that I did not like, out of your list: Killzone 2, Heavy Rain, Warhawk and MAG. Games I feel indifferent about: Motorstorm. They're fun, but not that fun. Game I did not play yet: Gran Turismo 5. However! I completly loved Bayonetta and Vanquish. Both were of the best action games I've played this generation, although that (and in fact, everything in my posts) consists of my personal opinion. It's not too hard to realize that we all have different tastes when it comes down to games, bro.
You know what... I have been analyzing those screens, very detailed. Those pics were probably took with a 580gtx and the cars doesn't look better than GT5 premium cars... What's the problem ??
Betta on Gt5
What's this then?
Looks Like Dirt 2.
gorgeous?? what is this a beauty pageant ?
Well, why else are the cars wearing side-skirts?
Too bad that these screens aren't in-game Shift 1 had the same screenshots qualty.... but the final game... meh... beautiful, but full of Graphic LIES
They aren't really lies. Just Kotaku resized them for some reason http://www.shacknews.com/sc...
Compared to GT5, Shift 2 is for Xbox what Dantes Inferno was for the Xbox, they experienced something like GOW3 but never experienced GOW3.
Hmmm... really ? Lots of 360 players have been playing forza 2 and 3 for years now, so I don't think many will see shift 2 as a way to "experience something like GT5". Most will see it as...shift 2.
This is being made by the same people who did GTR2. Last time I checked, that has a higher review average than GT5 has.
Thisis seriously stupid ...will market shift 2 , now ? when NFS : hot pursuit is still selling in the holiday season ? couldn't had waited fora couple of months ? And why this stupid vido ( even if it's once ) at the start of my HP ? i'm pretty positive any fan of HP don't care about the approch shift took .
They already said before it's meant to appeal to people who like realistic games. Need For Speed isn't even part of most of the title.
right ...so you put a trailer of a "realistic racing game " in the most arcade NFs to date ? That seems really logical ..
