"Cultural fads seem to come and go with disconcerting frequency. Each year has a new style, a new ‘in’ thing and without doubt a host of new buzz words to latch onto a suck dry. Currently, Zombies seems to be the ‘must-have’ addition to any game already successful or otherwise. If it’s not a zombie-based shooter such as Left 4 Dead or Resident Evil, it’s the splicing of the undead into titles such as Call of Duty or Red Dead Redemption with new content and modes. Gamers seem to crave zombies more than the shuffling corpse do your brain, at the moment. Luckily, Housemarque has managed to, in Dead Nation, return Zombies to their former glory, as the pandemic stricken soulless stacks of meat, just after a quick bite that we’ve known to grow and love, rather than an appropriate skin for target practice."
