Valve’s hardware statistics for October, has anything changed?

Single-core CPU usage is slightly down while dual-core hasn’t changed at all. Quad core has made a promising gain of 5%, although 6 core gaming clearly has along way to come.
No real push on the GPU front but this may change over the next few months with newer cards from both ATI and Nvidia already released with more on the way.

The story is too old to be commented.

Im one of those people still on a single core. I also have only 1 gig of ram so Id love to see how many people have that. but I have a 512mb gpu. I can run source game maxed with 6xAA and 60fps.

I need to upgrade soon for some pc games.

ZOMG man you need to upgrade. BTW amount of GPU memory doesn't really mean anything, you have a 1GB 5770 and a 1GB 460, the 460 will be faster. It depends on the architecture, efficency, drivers, just too many variables that make just the amount of VRAM useless. Take a 2GB 5970 vs a 1.5GB 580, the 580 is just as fast if not faster than the 5970.
