Gran Turismo 5 vs WRC: Championship: Video Comparison

Gamingbolt: I am not sure how many of you have actually played World Rally Championship this year, but it was a pretty neat game. So how does the rally modes in Gran Turismo 5 stack up against WRC. Let's take a look via the two videos below:

This Video shows Damage is better in WRC and in GT5 the effects of crash are almost negligible.

So what's the point of this? To show that he just got GT5 so damage isnt there yet? When it unlocks are parts supposed to fly off up in the air 20 feet after hitting a wall at 35miles and hour?

This is a really lame, and pointless article.

OK... Ill Bite... Here is my unbiased comparison...

Physics... Gt5! the car in wrc just jumps to 180 miles per hour after every crash...

Graphics... GT5! The wall around 130 in wrc just looks fake as hell... the damage on the car in wrc is nice but only losers who cant drive crash so adv GT5... I have not seen gt5 damage as im only a level 4 right now...

Hud...HMM TIE... I perfer the Gt5 map but it is a personal prefrence thing.

sound... slight adv to GT5.. ITS MORE REALISTIC!

Score... Gt5 beats WRC in its own game... plus gt5 has nascar, f1, go carts, and a thousand cars... overall this an epic fail for these reasons!
Bubbles if you think GT5 PWNS WRC!!!

man... driving WRC in GT5 is so freaking tough... i literally latch on to the steering wheel just to keep the car on track... argh.. n iwas so excited when they announced it. lol.

I'd thought this would be a somewhat cool comparison. But turns out he just keeps trying to make the car crash to induce an advanced damage level which he obviously hasn't reached yet(in GT5).

I saw that video on youtube.

I told the guy that he was playing on arcade mode and the damage model unlocks as progress through the game.

Man, so many new people in this gaming generation.

And a Patch is coming to put damage in Arcade Mode.
December 1.

There is already an Article about that in N4G.

never_waste_a_bullet2764d ago

a little off topic, but why does the damage unlock as you progress... Im glad it does and all, but why?

Orion2764d ago

I think nobody here has GT5... it's false that there's no damage in Arcade mode... I've been able to destroy a WRC car and make dents in a "normal" one in Arcade mode... somehwere in level 8-9, I don't remember... It's in GT Mode where damage unlocks with level... Arcade mode has no levelling!

saint_john_paul_ii2764d ago (Edited 2764d ago )

it does that because if you have full damage at the beginning of the game, you're going to be paying a lot of money to fix that car, and that aint cool. you'll go bankrupt before you know it.

the point of this is simply, to become a responsible driver before you go pro.

looks interesting but GT 5 is far superior.

aceitman2764d ago (Edited 2764d ago )

what the hell is that . what kind of comparison is that ... and if its for the damage this is all i have to say

prongs1232764d ago

This comparision makes no sense whatever lol

gameseveryday2764d ago (Edited 2764d ago )

The comparison is about the damage in both the games. It's not about the visuals. Its about the damage system in the game. Or how Gt5 looks when you dont get the damage till you reach a particular level.

I should be getting GT5 soon. The only thing that i'm not to keen on is the camera when outside the car. It's too stiff. It stays directly behind the car all the time, I prefer how the WRC camera is. That being said, GT5 is better overall.
