£300m price on Lara's head for SCi raider

Lara Croft Tomb Raider video games maker SCi Entertainment, based in Wimbledon, has received an approach from an unnamed suitor that could result in a takeover valuing it at more than £300m.

It could also lead to a bid battle between the world's biggest video games companies keen to take on by far the UK's leading player in the market. US giant Electronic Arts could go head to head with Ubisoft, the French-based European games maker, in the battle to win Lara and other games ranging from Conflict Global Storm to Hitman: Blood Money.

Funny how EA and Ubi fight for this while Ubi itself is being partially bought by EA.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Carmageddon belongs to SCi so hopefully this means that they start working on the Carmageddon 4 that they had planned for PS3 and 360 as well as PC.

Lara needs a true next-gen makeover. It would be really cool if it was Microsoft (or for PS3 owners, Sony). First party treatment of Lara would be cool.
