The article is only talking about online. The fact is the stores have plenty. I was in Best Buy yesterday looking for Mad Catz Gripz and there were plenty of 360s and Kinects. If anyone really wanted one they could get one.
Intentional shortages are sometimes the result of a marketing tactic. They are also a form of dishonesty. Of course so is claiming shortages when none exist.

I remember last time I took a picture of the PS3 shortage vs Xbox 360 stocks at Walmart, then sites started using that picture in their article, and all you n4g people could comment about was my shoes in the reflection. ;-P

to a point i can understand the bashing kinect has to be calibrated,i know they do it stores like they should,they prob do the quick set up and that can lead to lag of weird avatar motions,i calibrate it everytime i play just to be safe,but yeah luckily when i tried it in macy's in october it was fun so i picked it up and yes everyone loves it and is shocked it works lol.

Any 360 bundles you see on Amazon (US)are people who bought to resell for crazy profit. I would advise people not to buy those overpriced bundles. Local bestbuy and Wallmarts will be supplied better than online.

It's not "the truth".... ...they're disagreeing with...it's your faulty info. "Amazon" doesn't have the bundles for sale...those bundles are resellers, with inflated prices, and outrageous shpg.
it will sell huge this holiday. kinect is a system seller which is what Microsoft wanted. they will move tons of hardware and are actually expanding their audience which is good. they may finally sell over 1 million in November,they always missed it by around 200k but i think this time they may hit it.

it's not limited,it's up to the developers to make compelling software. you will see when games keep coming out that kinect is not limited. dance central,kinect sports and kinect adventures prove kinect works.
Walmart and Kmart in my town combined have about 20 of them sitting on the shelf. The really strange thing is thats what its been like since the day it launched. Either they are getting a steady stream of them or they aren't selling. Either way its far from selling out around here.
Went to our local WalMart last night.First time I saw any Kinect items in stock (excluding games). All they had were 4GB bundles though.
"Santa" used Amazon last week for a Kinect and im happy. Its number one on her wish list this year.
EDIT. Not counting the marked up prices, both Kinect bundles and Kinect itself are currently sold out on Amazon. They even have some sort of disclaimer stating its in high demand...etc
walmart and kmart they both get plenty just like game stock,even costco gets plenty i see a pallet in the back,microsoft is doing a great job shipping them,notice how many are selling yet its not sold out,its a diff story if it sold 200,000 and can be found it sold a million and is still easy to find for me,it will only pick up.

Kinect is making a great success! IT's the object that everyone wants for Christmas. In shopping malls,all people are looking for Kinect but it's sold out everywhere.A lot of people are booked for the next stock and not everyone will be able to have it. It's amazing!!
