Upon signing in on PS3 on the PS3, users are forced to accept a new ToS with interesting new changes. Could this be a warning of incoming banwave for PS3 hackers? More at source.
i hope this is true,i hate hackers, look what they done to pc gaming :(
^ Same here. Fun thing is, yesterday i was being an ass on the mic when playing Bad Company 2. (Something i dont do normally) When i signed in today, and got a ToS message, i thought i was banned for a split second lol.
I hope Sony can detect those fools, and happy little kids downloading gamez
sony is still unstoppable! Just imagine ps4...
Well, The pirates can change their system ID by using a special program. Sorry $ony but it's time to move on.
Anton Chigurh Move on? Like the 360 and the Wii? They have been hacked to death for years but still around. You trolls need to get a clue before commenting.
seriously...hackers, leave the basement, get some fresh air, maybe a job, buy your games =) support the awesome developers I KNOW a lot of hackers do it for sport and have jobs/ lives...but...most don't. @ wesley_ hey man I feel ya, I don't have a mic (yet) but if I did i'd get a few ToS for BF.BC2 xD I can be a prick sometimes, especially when in a bad mood and the game is going badly must keep that temper in check / not play the game when Im in a bad mood xD
People need to realize it's not a hack. It was stolen from a repair center and copied. Nobody hacked it.
for the disagreer please explain how it's a hack. Jailbreak was designed to fix ps3's not hack them. Someone stole it, mass produced it, and called it a hack. FAIL
No the jig somehow got in the hands of the so called PS jailbreak team. A stick used to put the ps3 in to service mode then the files where modified to with the help of geohotz exploit (not 100%) to make payload able to put ps3 in to what user are using now Witch is Dev_mode. Now People that intend to pirate should be banned end of getting games for free is bad enough but access to online sony give to paying customers for free is disgusting.
epic fail lolz
mandf clearly has no idea wtf he's talking about.
I hate hackers and cheap asses who dont pay for games. They can suck it.
Good, ban them for life. '7. You must not modify or attempt to modify the online client, disc, save file, server, client-server communication, or other part of any Service or cause disruption to any account, system, hardware, software, or network connected to Sony Online Services for any reason, including to gain an unfair advantage in any Service. 8. You must not bypass or attempt to bypass any user authentication systems or security feature or attempt to hack or reverse engineer any code or equipment in connection with Sony Online Services (unless permitted by applicable law).'
lolz they only just got psn to work with jailbreak, lots of them will get banned now, thank goodness for that
Good. I DID my fair share of piracy, but please ban them. Please. The problem is that they like to brag. Jerk-offs.
The problem is that they steal and hurt the industry/Sony, not that they brag
Stealing games is just wrong, although music and movies are fair game.
finally, something epic in the ToS. Im happy cuz I will go on a rampage soon.
Just goes to show you don't f*** with sony.
Wouldn't hurt my feelings if they banned hackers. Considering what they've cost me in terms of functionality I think it's only fair.
One of the people on my friends list asked me to send him the "file" of one of my games. He said that he 'hacked' his PS3. I guess I will not be seeing him much longer. Good riddance.
I think the chances are that if someone is using a Jailbreak, they've stopped signing into the PSN already. If this is mainly targeted at online game hacks, I really hope they're able to find and ban anyone doing it. I can't stand cheaters in online games.
Agree. Last thing I want are cheaters ruining online games like MAG and possibly even sabotaging neat challenges like the GT Academy challenge. If they decide to pirate fine (not that I condone it but at the very least, it's one less thing they can do to harm legitimate buyers) but stay off the internet.
''your online ID, your ip address and device mac address (the unique nuymberts which identify the network and device you are using) and the date and time of sign in; information about the hardware you are using and how you have used it, such as model and serial number, parental control settings, photograph and music settings, remote play settings, information about devices connected to the hardware, how many items are stored on the hardware or have been used with the hardware and other related information;'' ''Any such Services may be downloaded automatically and without further notice when you sign into Sony Online Services'' No privacy and downloads of hidden software are coming in this TOS.
Is it just me or reading the highlighted parts in the comments just ensuring Sony doesn't get sued for the upcoming Rewards program? The rewards program tracks everything, what you buy, what you play, what you do etc...and rewards you for it. So it has to communicate with sony on what hardware and games your using. Sony is just pulling a safety move so Rtards that want easy money dont go "hey Sony is invading my privacy ima sue them like I sue Google daily!"
I hope so! Banhammer ftw! :p
