IGN: Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood Review

"Assassin's Creed II is definitely one of my favourite games of the last 12 months. It was a meaty gaming meal that took several steps towards fulfilling the promise of the original, with new mechanics, more variety in gameplay, and an alluring new setting: renaissance Italy. It was a big leap, in other words: a worthy sequel in all regards." (Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, PC, PS3, Xbox 360) 8/10

"I disagree, you are not getting those :I"

8/10 because it's pretty much the same thing as AC2 with multiplayer slapped on it. I'm still getting it, though. I loved the second one.

I already got it, well... It's my bros late birthday gift from my sister that i had to pay for until she gets some money, but after he's finished with it ill beable to play it :) Which will be atleast after i beat AC2

Eurogamer probably is a huge AC fan, they scored Brotherhood 10/10.

I havent played any AC yet, so I guess AC:B will be an amazing way to start.

@Gambit bellow

I see, but dont have time to play previous iterations. Perhaps a little of reading would help. I dont think the story can be more convoluted than MGS :) tho, so I'll be fine.

^the story will confuse the hell out of you though.

I have had AC sitting on my PS3 shelf for 2 years now. I've played it for maybe 45 minutes. I just can't get into it...

If I was going to play AC:B, I'd probably just read the plot synopsis for AC on Wikipedia.

Meh...It has a severe case of Deja Vu, just like Bishock 2.

am going to be broke this month.

Maybe ill get this when i comes down in price. I'm not into multiplayer and the SP seems a little to close to ACII which i beat less then a year ago.

And Eurogamer gave this 10/10.

Oh dear 2010 IGN sucks.
It's 2010 and as such a 360/PS3 game can't get a great score unless it's called Halo.

8 is still a great score
I am really looking forward to playing this game. This with GT5 and Dead Nation is all i need this holiday season.

IGN has been off thier game latley.
black ops 8.5!?

ac: brother hood
only 8.0?

IGN sucks now.
newflesh  +   1908d ago
I'm actually starting to gain some long lost respect for IGN.

new vegas-8.5 (fair score)

black ops-8.5 (unbelieveble, must haven't got a cheque from Bobby)

And now AC:B an 8. That's way below average of what other sites scored. Not that they've become completely honest with their reviews, but they definetely have more sense to them than for example GT which gave a broken game like black ops a 9.3 and AC:Brotherhood they gave a 9, while criticising it during all the review.
frostypants  +   1908d ago
On the contrary. IGN is becoming an objective source again. Not sure what happened over there, but I'm liking it.

I'm surprised, this was actually a well written review from IGN!?

Its good for AC2 fans apparently but not for people like me who felt AC2 was lacking, I mean a little more than a year after release they come with a new one that while has an interesting MP aspect, plays pretty much like the last game. I mean same setting, same main character, same gameplay elements with some minor improvements, not enough to call it anything more than a full priced expansion pack.

Eurogamer 10/10 (going to read the review now) is unwarranted if all these things or even half what IGN says is true. 10/10 means everyone should play it or at least try it, if its like AC2 then people like me who did not enjoy it as much as the critics rated it will not get the big improvements we wanted and so be sorely disappointed.

How do you feel the game lacked?

I'll also admit that the game didn't seem like a full rich experience, that it tried too hard to cater to the demands of those with complaints and ended up adding the new features but not as in depth as they should have been. Sort of like too much frosting on a bit of cake.

I was also upset that stealth had been pushed over in favor of combat. Which is why my favorite item in the game was the cloak you got that made you infamous no matter where you were. Once I was forced to use stealth 100% of the time the game was more enjoyable for me. Unfortunatly, this cloak can only be aquired really really late so its use is almost entirely late or post-game.

I loved the first Assassin's Creed spite it's issues but I feel the second one didn't fix those issues as well as they should have.

Can't remember the last time I listened to IGN !
I'm still playing MOH online and so is all my friends
If I'd lisented to them I would of miss this gem ! ACBH is by far the best in the series

I love the concept, but goodness the gameplay is just too clunky.

Its almost a QTE. You guide the character not control it.

Shame too....the rest is so good.
