PSP Go drops in price AGAIN

Barely 2 weeks after the PSP Go dropped it’s price to just a little over the standard model PSP, Sony has gone even further in it’s attempts to shift the under performing handheld system with another price drop.

The cheaper it gets the more I consider buying one. At the very least it would be good as far as console collections go. An example of early attempts to move away from disc media. A little slice of game history.

I know people are going to disagree with me for this but...

If they can get the PSP Go cracked I will certainly be interested in picking one up.

Mostly for the emulator possibility's, and maybe the some PSP Jrpg's I can't find in the UK.

Sarcasm2625d ago

I'm confused, it just dropped like a month ago to $199. According to this site, it's still $199. So where's the price drop before?

ABizzel12625d ago

It's really good, once you get one. Not having to carry all those UMD's around is nice, and having 16GB of space fromt he get go is great.

It was dumb to not continue using Memory Stick Pro Duo so we can use the ones we already had.

I got mine for $160 thanks to a price error in our news paper (it had the PSP GO listed as the same price as a PSP 3000).

ABizzel1 i would an wouldnt personaly gree with u n not. I have 2 PSP 3000. One for me an 1 for my wife or kids to play. Truely if Sony Focus on publisher to release DD i would be happy with multiplayer games. Pangya Is one of my fav game i loved. i pulled over 200 hours playing with solo. Sadly there still no DD version so i was force to buy another 1 that way i can enjoy with other. I have 3 16GB pro Duo. This was mainly for media DD games an my 2nd PSP. Over all i spend nearly 630$ for 2 PSP $ 3 Pro Duo. Now i need another one ... Black Friday has a bundle 130$ PSP at radio shack. If im not lazy i mite go get it.

The screens on the 3000s were heavily interlaced and kinda sucked. PSP Go had a beautiful, crystal, high contrast screen.

I prefer either a 2000 or a Go; the portability and Bluetooth features of the latter are appealing.

These price drops are signs of a PSP2 announcement.
VERY soon

Bull5hifT2625d ago

The cheaper it gets the closer i think the PSP2 will be announced , i hope they dont cheapen it up cause of the resession, i have this feeling just to watch there backs, they wont go overboard like they did with the ps3 when the launch consoles cost sony $800 to build and they sold them for $600 ... Mine YLOD , i miss playing san andreas in HD and ffxii and half life 1.., it was fun' luckily it died right after it dropped to $400 and they gave me a full refund and i got me the new dual shock at the time and 2 games

kneon2625d ago

If it turns out that the the PSP 2 is really the PSP phone then it could very well be a $400-600 device. The top end phones are already in that range, sometimes higher. You just don't normally see such a price as they are typically subsidized by the carriers and tied to a contract.

Double post.

PirateThom2625d ago

I like the concept of it, I just don't like the limited selection of games available and the fact the console and games cost more.

I have no problem with buying PSP games, but the ideal set up for me would be to buy the game, get the custom firmware on PSP Go and then, funny enough, illegally download any games I bought, just to ensure I get them at a sensible price and can still play them.

Death2625d ago

Buying another PSP that I can't play my games on is seriously ignorant. If there were a way to play my existing library, I would give my PSP to my kid and buy a new PSP Go for myself. I'm leaning against paying more for digital downloads though. Kinda of a flawed business model from the get go.

The Go is a trap you have to pay for overpriced games on PSN and you have no alternative. Do yourself a favor and buy the new God of war psp 3000 bundle and buy some insanely cheap games form gamestop. THANK GOODNESS FOR GAMESTOP

Close_Second2625d ago

...PSN does not feature the same selection of games for the PSP I'd still buy the Go over the standard PSP any day of the week.

NarooN2625d ago

I'd get a Go if all the PS Store games they have available didn't suck. The only good ones they have I already own on UMD.

jack_burt0n2625d ago (Edited 2625d ago )

they need a umd transfer kit for the pspgo which has some kind of timed expiry security measure have no idea how it would work.

PirosThe4th2625d ago

The could just lock the rips like PSN games which are activated for only one console... but then again doubt sony will bother with it...
