Uncharted 2 didn't have that strong of a "story" in my opinion. I think they could greatly improve upon that aspect of the game.

UC2's story wasn't bad by any means, but it wasn't as good as the first's. I think they should keep the same basic mechanics that they know works well, improve upon action elements (new crazy scenes like when you were standing in a falling building), make a deep and enthralling story, and introduce a villian that we can truly, truly hate. For instance, a man kills Elena in cold blood halfway through the game = the player going fucking ballistic.

Yes, but if Elane is killed, we're left without the 1-2 subtle chit-chat between Nathan and Elena. Although I do agree that a friendly being killed in cold blood would do the trick.

Personally, one improvement for me would be melee weapons.

Uncharted is supposed to be light hearted like the 30's adventure serials and Indiana Jones, somthing like that wouldn't fit in , its too dark for the universe

However i would like to see more Backstory in Uncharted, the characters are well developed and well acted, but you have no idea where they come from , or how they came to be, if they fixed that the Uncharted universe will have the most 3 dimensional cast in gaming

I think U2 has a "solid" story, meaning it was simple, and perfect for a video game

I think killing of Elena is completely unnatural to the Uncharted universe

maybe in Uncharted 3 it would be interesting to have Elena become a bigger presence (say, love interest thus, if kidnapped, it would become personal which wasn't REALLY the case in U1 or U2)

but what you suggest is too dark for Uncharted universe imo

most important factors (single player wise):

diving under water
melee weapons
sully being more present!
have an epic hand on hand combat section/ section with no guns, just melee weapons

Uncharted 1 has jet ski/boat (water)
Uncharted 2 has train/trucks (land)
Uncharted 3 should have plane/air =D maybe a big cargo plane or even a Zepplin =3

Im pretty sick of hearing people compare the gears controls to uncharted's. While both are 3rd person shooters, they control entirely differently. Gears is an action game, beginning to end. Uncharted however is action + platforming + stealth. I prefer Gears controls for competitive multiplayer (even though Gears 2's multi sucked... fingers crossed that Gears 3 is more like Gears 1) but for the single player, in my opinion its no contest for Uncharted. The main difference is the locked Camera. By locking the camera on the character you get a tighter feel, more akin to that of a FPS. This is the route gears took because its purely a shooter. This wouldn't work at all for Uncharted so the comparison is silly and pointless.

I actually ment more how they handle,UC2 is very responsive and very smooth.But I understand what your saying and your right.They are very different and to each his own,I prefer UC2's MP controls over Gears though.

the only thing i can see them improving technically is map sizes

they im pretty sure thats the only thing they can truly do is increase map sizes and let the player choose how he wants to handle these increased maps

I think naughty dog should amp up the sex appeal overall they did a great job in Uncharted 2 by bringing in Chloe ;) ohh and I think that playing as other characters would be awesome !!!! Just like in Resident evil 4 where you can play as that one chick that was with leon.. also story co-op :D Even though I have a great feeling naughty dog will be implementing it (Fingers Cross) XP

Half the characters in Uncharted 2 looked like they brushed their eyeballs as well as their teeth every morning. Very distracting, get rid of the glazy eyeball effect.

Introduce more puzzles as well. Tougher ones, in tradition with adventure games of yore.

Need some levels amongst crowds too. Shanghai or Tokyo, that would be belting.

Yeah, the only minor graphical fault in UC2 was those damn eyeballs.

Chloe's eyes ,especially, looked as though they were coated in furniture polish.

Also a Celtic vibe (like EA's Undying or Hellboy 2) would be a cool setting for UC3, like Scotland or the west of Ireland, that could tie in with Atlantis in the Atlantic ocean, or maybe a bit of Viking lore set in Scandanavia.

Some more backstory behind Nathan Drake would be welcome. It's been two games and we hardly know the guy, except that he is related to Francis Drake and is a pimp.

Some quiet levels like the one in the village in UC2 would be good too, just to provide small breaks between all of the action .

Crowds of people to interact with would be nice. Most of the levels of UC2 felt very desolate and isolated.

I'd like more interaction during cut-scenes, I thought UC1 had plenty but there was a lot less in UC2. Plus as someone above said more puzzles (even if they're optional like AC2).
No repeat sequences! I didn't mind the train-in-the-snow part being in the game twice but to make me DO it twice, never got that reasoning behind that.

Oh, what would be amazing (though I'm not sure how feasible) would be a movie of the game when the player finished. Using the record feature from the Multiplayer but for the Single-player's progress & splicing it in with the cut-scenes as a reward / re-cap for finishing the game.

It was also different the second time, as he actually said stuff when he climbed, adding to his character and story. Thought that was pretty cool.

You know what would rock is an uncharted mega man style lol. You choose your looting arena and hire on help in some cases. Break the story down to the point there isn't one and let the game play talk. Your enemies are pirates, CIA, war lords, and the hidden creepy secrets of the world. The actual game play is better than the cut scenes. Yet the WTF moments where do I go should be for out side quest.

There really is too much of that in uncharted. The puzzels don't take skill the second time around. That must change.

1) Level Editor: wouldn't really affect the majority of people, so I don't know the legitimacy of this idea.
It would be cool, but I rather them make other parts of the game better.

2) Better/New Environments: That's kind of a given. Of course

3) Different Weapons: I agree that it would be awesome if they added melee weapons such as
daggers. It would add some depth to the gameplay.

4) Improved Co-op: I can agree with this. Add something new, maybe some "back-story" sections.

5) Plot Twist: Personally, I think killing Elena would be WAY too predictable and would piss off
quite a few fanboys. If you want something unpredictable, don't go with the standard, "The love
of your life was just killed, now go on an inhuman level of rampage and kill the world."

No major changes really. UC2 was near perfect and only needs slight adjustments. Too big a change could ruin UC3 completely. I have seen it happen to many times. Developers go to far with the changes and turn the sequel of a great game into a disaster. That said some of your suggestions like Tougher puzzles and a more involved storyline would be nice. Maybe add in someone related to a character like Elena's sister, Nate's brother or father. One thing they need to add for sure though.......bikini skins for Chloe and Elena! Whooooooo!!!!!!

Improvements ?!? Uncharted 2 needs absolute no improvements .. The shory was amazing the pacing was perfect voice acting top notch graphics ..... AWESOM ... And robust multiplayer and co op make the replay value rediculous .... That's why it got so many dam rewards ..and game of the year

I dont think messing with perfection,or near perfection is the best of ideas,however....

You should always look to advance and set the bar even higher if at all possible.

For me it would be a more "open ended" route/path,more multiple paths,not really RDR or assasins creed sandbox wide open play area,but at least something inbetween UnC2 and the above games I mentioned.

They can always create tougher puzzles,smarter bosses,overall higher levels of A.I..Try to eek out more eye candy polish.Perhaps allow for a tighter stealth type gameplay.Perhaps add a little more of a challenge for the climbing moves and jumps.Really all small tweaks or add-ons to what already has to be the best game this gen.

Anyways,I am sure they will deliver,cannot wait for UC3.it along with Last guardian and LBp2 are my most anticipated games...

First off Uncharted 2 was a amazing game and still is today in my opinion one of the best if not the best looking game on the PS3 hands down...

So what does Uncharted 3 need to improve on a already amazing game ?

1. 3D = Uncharted 3 has to be developed with a 3D engine, it is definitely the future of gaming and this feature alone would take Uncharted 3 over the top.

2. Multiplayer = while the uncharted 2 introduced multiplayer to first Gen Uncharted fans and a new experience as far as 3rd person, and a neat cover system. It can be improved with the thing that make Multiplayers fun and exciting. Guns, - guns need to sound like guns and feel like guns, when you shoot someone in online play it takes to much to down a enemy. Customization, -having the ability to customize guns and players is very important. Perks,- perks are a very important part of online shooters and the more the merrier. Trophies and Awards,- nothing like something to remind you of how you downed your opponent or achieved a feat. Maps.- are what make or breaks online for me, and i believe seeing the maps in 3D will be wild in exciting.

3. Co-op Campaign = Having a offline & online campaign you can play through entirely Co-op with a friend would be pretty amazing. and did i mention 3D.

4. Melee Combat= when you take a game that is so cinematic, the hand to hand combat should feel like that. Example: let say when you attack someone they can press a sequence of buttons to defend themselves and the person to react fastest would win the fight. this of course would all play out in a cinematic fashion naughty dog is known for. Right now its the first person to connect 2 punches wins but having the ability to block a punch and connect your own would make it more involved and fun. nothing like knocking the snot out of someones nose in 3D. Melee weapons a must..

5. DLC = More content equals, more fun equals, more fans. I wont even mention 3D
