Dealing with betrayal and difficult conflicts in gaming reveals a truth about real life. (Contains spoilers for Vanquish and Devil Survivor.)
Sorry for the real-life drama. Hope it is resolved in a timely and non-scarring fashion. As for video games, the whole best friend betrayal is pretty tiresome. I think that is a plotline that we need to get away from so that people will stop thinking of video game stories as cliche. It seems like everytime I start a game with a best friend character as my right hand man, I just automatically assume he's going to betray me at some point down the road.
