Megabits of Gaming likes imaginative menus - Black Ops not only had a secret game but also provided several achievements! Megabits looks at some of the the best menu screens of games from years gone by... any other suggestions?
Hah hah, Brutal Legend's opening is amusing, but buildin g an actual minogame into the menu? Thats adding value. Can't wait to get Black Ops now. By the way, one 'e' too many. (Oh, the sick, sick jokes I'm resisiting.)
but it get's old quick
@The Leisure Lab - yeah, love Brutal Legend but think the Dirt screen is great. Could spend ages just trying to fathom how to access all the various options,eh? By the "e", guess you were referring to the headline? Have corrected - thanks!
Yeah, the headline, but don't mind me...'buildin g' and 'minogames'? I can't spell either!
Nothing beats the assassins creed 2 menu.
Thought about including that - the DNA effect was pretty effective but didn't really do too much? Very appropriate for the game though!
Anyone remember Syndicate too - used to think that was a great menu (like a computer terminal) - the map was kind of RISK like but with the ability to control your agents too!
Hmmm...I loved Half Life 2, but have no recollection of that train at all. I wonder if it got lost amidst the mashed together menus of The Orange Box?
That scene is from the original HL2 (no orange box). Thats the part when you are traveling along that road on the left, then you run down the bridge before the train comes at you.
To be honest, the BO menu DOES look good and is pretty nifty. BUT "BUT" I hate waiting about 10 seconds every damn time I want to get back to the main menu because the game wants to load an in-game level. It's not so bad at first, but imagine seeing that epileptic flashy screen over-and-over again.
cool menu liked the hidden mini game
also the menu theme ROCKS, it kicks ass
I thought the menu in Final Fantasy XIII was pretty good, just because of the music.
I hate FFXIII, Everytime I make a comment on the game I have to make that clear first, anyway, the menu music is beautiful isn't it? One of the best songs in the game haha
I like vanquish's menu, GT5 prolauge's menu, and this games menu a lot.
Two words... Dirt 2
The mini game in Black Ops is surprisingly good. It's like Smash TV but with zombies and some mad weapons like a tank and a heli. I got to level 14 before it got a bit hard and my game ended. But if it's got leaderboards I'll be back... oh and you unlock a cool gamer pic of the guy on the back of the box.
I like the menu alot, it's just missing some music.
The Chronicles of Riddick menu is annoying :/
Strange, but interesting article. I always liked Mercenaries 2's menu. While it's still a "typical" menu, it looks like a dollar bill but with bullets all over it. Suits the game perfectly. Tomb Raider Underworld gets points just because of what happens when you press start. A bomb goes off and that's the starting point of the game. Sad part is, that's the only good part of the whole game. Same thing kinda happens in inFamous, but the rest of the game is really awesome.
Definitely Dirt 2 for me!
Riddick menu is amazing.
