Well, safe to say that guy just got owned.

TheLastGuardian2953d ago (Edited 2953d ago )

I've thrown so many Tomohawks randomly trying to get lucky kills and It never works. I can't stop playing Black Ops online. I'm level 33. Internet explorer won't let me open the site.

PidgeottosCrew2953d ago

One of the reasons why Call of Duty is so terrible yet, at the same time, amazing.

shiner2953d ago

I would say more terrible than amazing.

It's pretty lame that a lucky, long distance tomahawk kill can swing the balance of a game. No skill required for this game I guess.

PidgeottosCrew2953d ago

To be fair it can be said for most FPS'. Lucky knife throws/grenade tosses/sniper shots are nothing new to gaming.

-Alpha2953d ago (Edited 2953d ago )

So then if this is so terrible, what do you make of grenades in EVERY shooter? Every game has some luck required, this shot is rare to come by, so why can't you just enjoy it for what it is instead of trying to use it to bash the "skill" the game requires? It sure as hell doesn't "swing the balance of a game"

@above

Exactly, but you will here COD always getting the short end of it.

shiner2953d ago

I agree with the luck factor in all FPS games. However, what I can't agree with is lucky shots that defy the laws of physics.

I guess I've been spoiled playing Battlefield and Bad Company games where the weapons are so balanced and the game physics are realistic to the point where this type of thing doesn't happen.

Play on if that's your thing. It's just not mine.

Rubberlegs2953d ago

How does that swing the balance of the game? Its not even an a balance issues because of how lucky of a kill it was.

shiner2953d ago

@Rubberlegs

By "swing the balance of the game" I meant in a deathmatch type game where the first to record a number of kills wins, it does seem a little cheap to get kills that way possibly ending the game or taking the lead.

In reference to the balance of the weapons, don't you think a tomahawk thrown a few hundred yards and killing someone by falling about 10 feet on their head is a little too overpowered for a hand thrown weapon?

chilled2m2953d ago

@shiner

This was a one in a million shot, I'm not quite sure how your associating one kill with the rest of the game.

haters gonna hate.

wow...in 1 week 2 kills by random tomahawk throws across a map

sad...

Simco8762953d ago

not even a week, lol

3 days

BabyTownFrolics2953d ago (Edited 2953d ago )

6 million people purchased this game, millions play everyday, and the fact that two random tomahawk kills have been recorded and posted thus far on N4G is sad?

i think its pretty amusing and cool, but to each his own, by the way how are the tears this season is sadville?

Shackdaddy8362953d ago (Edited 2953d ago )

6 million people played MW2 everyday when it came out. I didnt see lucky throwing knife kills until a couple months after.

Its because they made the tomahawk be attracted to the enemy so its really easy to get a hit(kinda like the sticky grenade in Halo3)

The_Darkest_Red2953d ago

Well lets just take a look at this. Roughly 5 million people play the game, let's conservatively estimate that 3 million have played online.

Let's say only 10% of those people have used the tomahawk, 300,000 people.

Let's estimate that each person has thrown 100 tomahawks, again, a conservative estimate. That's a total of 30,000,000 tomahawk throws.

30 MILLION tomahawk throws and we have video evidence of 2 lucky kills. That's a 0.00000667% chance of landing this type of hit.

Now people, PLEASE STOP WHINING ABOUT THE LUCK INVOLVED WITH CALL OF DUTY. I understand your frustrations but at least present something that is legitimate evidence instead of making some random fluke out to be a common in-game occurance.

throwing a tomahawk across a map shouldn't even be possible in a game, nonetheless kill someone.

it
just
shouldn't
happen

not in COD, not in the COD I used to play and enjoy...

thats my opinion though...I find it sad that this is even possible.

The_Darkest_Red2953d ago

Unbelievable... you are upset because something has a chance of occurring that is less than the chance of you winning the lottery. Just think about that one for a second.

What is wrong with gamers these days?
