Kinect gamers in 15 hour queues for Microsoft launch

Keen gamers have queued in the cold for more than 15 hours to be among the first to get their hands on the latest bit of gaming hardware – Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Kinect.

The fans began lining up at 9am outside the Oxford Street branch of retailer Game, ahead of the launch on the stroke of midnight.

and NOT the ps3 horde, actually love their system. Why is it that the ps3 fanfarts have more to say about kinect than ANY other group on the internet? You'd think they'd be too occupied with Move to care

You guys need to relax with the hate. People who buy Kinect are taking away your PS3's or spending your money. There have Move demos out there also. If people like that better, they will buy it. Calm down.

i qued for half an hour
im really happy with kinect. Its very responsive and easy to use and most importantly its alot of FUN which is what i think kinects about i have my 360 and ps3 controler for hardcore games. Kinect is a breath of fresh air imo. Well worth the money i paid.

That's the result of a DUMB society.

How people fall for ads is beyond me, I mean when MGS2 ads were running on TV I really never gave a crap about the game, but when I actually played it for my self at a friends house (who so happened to have the game) I instantly found it a great game and bought a copy of it.

If anyone buys a product because of hype and brainwashing advertisements then he/she is the biggest idiot of all time.

The majority of our societies today are nothing but Sheeps which is very unfortunate.

EDIT: By the way I never fell for PS-Move as well.

Well lucky for me that it has brought me fun time with the family and the device works.

You only have to brainwash if it doesn't. Despite the impression you got from MS actually advertising their device the thing does what it says on the box, no brainwashing required.

I did fall for Move as well and have the exact same comment to make about it.

Sounds like motion isn't your bag. Or you haven't found something compelling to warrant a purchase.. Fair enough.

they may have queued for 15 hours but there was not many of them. about 20-25. there is a vid on IGN. Don't think there is as much demand for this as some would believe.

I will take my kids to try it in Manchester at the weekend before fully deciding if this will be in their christmas stockings.

Metro is a free paper who get all their income from adverts. The whole front page was Kinetic and an advert on nearly every page. it was like Microsoft had bought the paper for the day.
