With much fanfare, anticipation, and even trepidation from some, Microsoft's motion gaming peripheral Kinect has journeyed from a mysterious project named 'Natal' and onto store shelves as one of the most sought after electronic devices this holiday season.

This review has more weight to it in my books, just because of the fact that it is not a gaming site.

Yeah, another great review, looks like the doubters have been proved wrong.

I bet Peenywise and all the other sany fans are banging their head off a wall right now crying their eyes out.

The first batch of games may not be the best example of its capabilities but they are an example none the less. There will be better titles to come.

There is potential for the hardware. We just need creative developers to use it properly.

edit: "Kinect's motion controls will only ever complement and add to the game genres we love, it will NOT take over."

This right here should put minds to ease. It isnt like now that its out, the controller is obsolete. Even sony knows they can't abandon the controller crowd now that Move is out. Both devices can compliment the controller respectfully.

... If I had to write my review for Kinect, this would be it.
Especially the bit about hardcore games like Gears and Halo with a standard controller and some Kinect input aswell.
Im really looking forward to next years games and what Microsoft might show at next years E3.
I know alot of people have been critising Kinect, but I think there could be some really unique games to come.

I guess Kinect is a fun device. In the same way Guitar Hero is fun.

I still stand by the fact that it isn't revolutionary (more like evolutionary) or innovative. At least not from the company - Microsoft!

I'm sure most people who are currently enjoying Kinect, were expecting more, especially if they were expecting what was Project Natal.

....yes all of the above and I cant wait to get my hands on Kinect on the 10th Nov when its out in the UK.

Yes I have already played it, and Like I have said before, I got over 2 hours of playtime on 4 different games and it was great and worked flawless for me, much better than I was ever expecting...

As suggested in the review, the next Harry Potter game will have special games and co-op scenarios for Kinect owners besides the story mode that all versions consist of. I think that's fantastic.

fooltheman2059d ago

you did see footage...
Harry runs by himself...kills the illusion if being a sorcerer...
Sorcery on move looks better than that added mini game..

sony should try to team up with ea for this too

Loccus2059d ago (Edited 2059d ago )

Thanks for the details. HP may be a poor game but it still highlights what I meant. If you have a Kinect then you get to use it for some unique games or challenges besides the basic game.

The lag on that is embarassing.

Well done M$

Wow, for a second there, I thought it was the Classic Game Room HD we were talking about. Glad it turns out it's not the guy from CGRHD, cause I wouldn't have watched his video reviews on youtube anymore, and it would've been a pity, cause they're fun.
