With its impressive body tracking and unique, controller-free experience, Kinect is great for casual gaming parties and workouts--assuming you have enough room to play it.
(Kinect, Xbox 360)
3.5/5
wow even cnet can't give this thing a break. I still want to see more reviews. I am not going to buy it but i was thinking about it as a prank christmas present for my buddy. I want to put him on youtube for a lot of hits
149$ isn't exactly expensive for me at least. I know a lot of people are in school etc and it may seem tight, but i'm a working engineer and my wife is also an engineer. 149$ is really nothing. Heck we bought a $1899.00 bed on a whim when we went looking for a hammer tool set.
Though, I don't plan on buying it. I'm still interested to see how the reviews turn out.. how much they willing to forgive or not forgive when it comes to reviewing the tech.
The funny thing with CNET is that you can't expect CNET to please everybody.
If they review a MS product positively they are obviously owned by MS. If they review MS product negatively it just emphasizes that the product was SO bad that even their mother couldn't love it.
I guess that's their fault for having a tie to MS, consequently they are always taken lightly
The only review so far I have seen that pointed out lag issues is Engadget I'll have to read through the other main sites but i have yet to see anything about it
Looks like it will average in the 7's for hardware.
Some of the game reviews seem positive but a lot of them are using words as to why I am not interested as of yet. Casual, novelty, kids, family oriented, core 360 owners probably wont be interested in this device, etc.
The only game I think looks neat is Dance Central. Even though it's precanned moves I think it would be more fun to play than boring fitness games.
The Kinect love fest begins! Well it's over. Motion Control is officially taking over the industry. It's almost time to form the underground league of controller only gamers.

.
Exactly what I was thinking..
What happened to good old pranks?
...You know that involved more effort than $$$.

Yeah that's nice to know.
Good for you.
Though, I don't have the setup required for kinect so it was never a possibility to get (my 360's in front of a bed).
lmfao, awesome.
Glad to see you are doing so well ^^
Still in college, so it did seem alot >.<

C-net really weren't forgiving.

lol, I agree on your point.
entirely skip mentioning if there is lag or not.
or if there are any glitches. or if it is accurate.
but then again, they did not mention any accuracy problem with Wii...
from other reviews, those problems seems to exist still.
lmfao.
leave it to Alpha to come up w/ great analogies.
+bubs :D
lol F you. If anyone needs bubbles here it's me, the pathetic guy sitting alone in the corner.
That's exactly what I mainly use Wii and Move for..
We already use the controllers for everything else..
looks like the reviews will be between 7 and 8 for most sites..
Good news for Microsft
whats going to differentiate the two will be the games library...
Aka, "I guess the check didn't clear" or "I guess the 500 million dollars wasn't enough."
But when CNET gives an MS product a high score, it's "CNET is owned by MS."
