THQ announced today its earnings for the second fiscal 2011 quarter ended September 30. The company reported net sales of $77.1 million, down from the $101.3 million posted during the same period last year. THQ also reported a net loss of $47 million, significantly worse than last year’s net loss of $5.6 million in the same period.
Company highlights for the second quarter included the announcement of the uDraw GameTablet for Nintendo’s Wii and the establishment of a new studio helmed by ex-Assassin’s Creed creative director Patrice Désilets. THQ also extended its partnership with Nickelodeon to create more titles based on the Spongebob Squarepants brand.
