Paul writes, "Since playing the Fallout series including the latest version Fallout: New Vegas I have been asking myself why can't we have some sort of vehicles??"
Would be interesting.
and a mod will be out =D as for consoles...and over all experience, nah. being on foot adds to the experience =) + the landscape on NV is quite nice =)
The game would probably crash and drop to 2 frames per second! xD I mean- The developers couldn't even add climbable LADDERS because it destroyed their engine XD Imagine a full out vehicle!
Had motorcycle mods on PC. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
I'd spend hours mowing down radscorpions.
... probably be one of the fucking best game ever... even more than now... Add vehicles and solve that whole 'bugs' thingy.
Nothing would stand it its path...muahahahah
Oh, i thought New Vegas had vehicles, oh well, ive only played 11 hours of it (on hardcore) then my PS3 deaded on me :-( Edit, thinkin bout it, i dont really mind walkin round the WasteLand, i find it quite ralaxin, i was the same with Red Dead 2
Well, atleast RDR had horses :) I loved riding around on my stupendous stallion.
I would love to see this it would take it to the next level which it needs to be at the possibilities would be endless
You would think they'd include vehicles in what is literal a squeal. Probably just proof of the devs using old code.
Well 1 problem 4 sure is even just running the game wants to freeze this maybe a sure sign of underpowered engine and vehicles moving fast would freeze for sure without some kind of upgrade
well oblivin had horses so why couldnt fallout have mutant horses or motorbikes or a dunebuggy hell even a go cart would be dope. The engine could handle horses and would fit in the western theme. Maybe break em in like rdr.
There really should have been something in between just running everywhere and fast travel. Thankfully I am playing the PC version and I imagine it won't be long before there is a vehicle mod for Fallout NV (there was one for Fallout 3 where you could repair the broken motorbikes in the game).
It would be called Rage
lol cheap and easy way to discount the fact that Bethesda is ignoring a major possibility for this series. Last time I checked RAGE was not the same as Fallout.
ignoring isnt the same as realizing that the engine they built wouldn't make for fun automotive traversal. And its not like obsidian would be the ones to create this new engine AND make game content within 2 years...they just color in the lines. Did you play Stalker? They took out the cars, and when you download the mod that puts them back in you can see why... Technical limitations are a bitch. IRONICALLY fallout 4 using the rage engine would mean they could drag and drop the driving assets and make tweaks to make it more suitable. but honestly...it wouldn't be worth a damn if you didn't have to scavenge for gas. which we all know noobs would whine and complain about and say "OMG gamez r suppozed 2 b about fun i hav 2 fill my car wit gas in real lyfe y wud i do it in a game"
You mean where one's a post-nuclear apocalyptic shooter RPG with mutant humans and animals where the other's a post-asteroid apocalyptic shooter RPG with mutant humans and vehicles? Hm... And I thought someone other than Bethesda did Vegas, which is part of the excuse its more bug ridden than the first. Edit: "it wouldn't be worth a damn if you didn't have to scavenge for gas." Well heck, the robots have been running around for decades on something.
"Well heck, the robots have been running around for decades on something" Energy cells
@ Genecalypse: Or borderland
The Gamebro engine probably couldn't handle it. Or the uneven landscape of the game would make the inclusion of vehicles somewhat impractical. But there should definitely have been a helicopter. Oh, well. I don't trust Obsidian to actually put the effort into making a great game.
Just going by the Fallout's background plot, but if society's supposed to be messed up and all that, where the hell would you get gasoline for the vehicle? Think about it.
I know. They mentioned this in the first Fallout. You meet a guy selling cars and he says good luck finding petrol. I wish they would have the cars cut in half with the Brahman pulling them. Just like a horse and carriage. This was in the first fallout. They should have some kind of mount.
Because if you played Fallout 2, some vehicles are powered by what are basically mininuclear reactors.
Is that why the cars have huge explosions from getting shot? lol
Well, in broken steel add on I can remember a dozen of helicopters flying around in some mission. So obviously fuel isn't a big problem
I would probably run at 13FPS max without any enemies and freeze the moment the neurons in your brain would even begin to form the idea of using VATS.
I'd run over those freakishly supernaturally endowned Deathclaws - that'd show them who the Lord of the Mojave is.. Bastards!
Indeed run overs would be awesome happens to be my favorite in warhawk its just hilarious to hear and see the effect :)
I remember rumors about Broken Steel including a motorcycle. Too bad that never happened.
someone made a mod though, if you're on the PC http://www.fallout3nexus.co...
Pretty cool. I want to get it for PC, but my current PC is shit. Was gonna get a new one later this year, but I've been reading that F3 has issues on Windows 7.
It doesn't. I have all the Fallout games on my system. Windows 7 Professional x64
Fallout Tactics had vehicles. Jesus, has anyone here actually played the Fallout series before Fallout 3?
Not many people no and wasn't that a spinoff not an official entry?
couldn't play Tactics though. FO2 had the car in the junkyard that you could buy. I think it ran on microfusion cells or something.
You know what...it would be nice if Fallout 3/New Vegas had frickin' SHADOWS on things besides just characters. The game world is so boring and bland. The gamebryo engine needs to be taken behind a barn and shot. And there's no way in hell it could handle vehicles with the amount of clipping glitches there are in the game. Today I saw a scorpion walking halfway into the ground. It could attack me, but I couldn't attack it.
Hmm, no shadows really? Didn't even notice it, lol. Well, it's pretty fuckin shocking. And I agree with you about the world being boring and bland, and in fallout new vegas even more so than in fallout 3
It would be quite Awesome.
Would be little because already Fallout 3 should have them. Oblivion has horses.
This is Fallout we are talking about right... It is not Mad Max! What real danger is there to be had when you are just driving around in a car in a world that has very little technology?
Very little tech? They have more than we do. lol. It's just scattered. Look at the BoS bastards.
It would probably freeze up even more than it already does.
Haha, the disagree to my comment made me laugh. Because I was just playing this game before surfing back to this site, and it hard froze on me three times in an hour's worth of play.
You could use the flux capacitor for your energy. With all the garbage laying around, you could find the fuel pretty easily. :) (Back to the Future)
RAGE comes to mind. And it'll definately slay Fallout.
yes, I am looking forward to this one.
this is the last thing to add to the series to make it finally perfect
it would lag and crash like hell, but it would be fun running over death claws !!
walking the wasteland is part of the fallout experience, always has been. I think they should add them and make the maps gigantic to keep the pacing in line with FO3 and FNV.
The terrain would need to be redone. There is a lot of invisible walls, and you can easily get your character stuck
id LOVE that!
i really wish i had a gaming PC now.. Fallout is fun on the PS3 but with mods it would be a lot cooler..
