My Experience With The PlayStation Move

Steven Artlip from Platform Nation writes: I’ve been lucky enough to have the PlayStation Move for a couple of months now and with Microsoft Kinect around the corner I figured it would be a great time to talk about it in case you plan on picking one of these up. Now this article won’t be about Kinect in any other way except that I mentioned it in this paragraph, I’m just going to talk about the PlayStation Move hardware, the functionality of it, and the games supporting it.

Yeah it works very well. I have to come back to MAG. I dropped it when KZ3 beta started. I put a lot of effort to be efficient at using MOVE, dont want to lose it.

GamingGamer2759d ago

dissuade those xbox fanboys who keeps arguing that Move is laggy/glitchy and inaccurate as Kinect.

even though this is thousandth time that someone said Move is really accurate

Tapewurm2759d ago (Edited 2759d ago )

I have had the Move since launch too and have to say that what he has written here pretty much sums it up. I also have to say that my current favorite move titles are Resident Evil 5, the Shoot, Sports Champions and yes even the terribly reviewed Time Crisis: Razing Storm (The games in TC:RS are fun if you accept them for what they are...Arcade Style Gun Games and my kids and I enjoy playing them together) I have MAG and Heavy Rain as well but haven't taken spent a lot of time with the Move on those yet so can't really comment on those yet. I am really looking forward to see how Socom 4, Sorcery and Killzone 3 implement the Move.... have some great games to look forward to.

Hustle Kings is pretty sweet with Move when you get the hang of it. Takes some time though. Probably not for casuals..

Just the action for making the shot is quite tricky, and if you don't keep the move steady and straight while making the shot then you will mess up. Just like the real thing.

Although it is harder to play with Move than DS3, I'd personally rather play it with Move, which is a pretty high recommendation.

cochise3132759d ago (Edited 2759d ago )

i want to get the move, but there is nothing i want to play on it right now. i'll stick to my DS3.

Parapraxis2759d ago

The sensible thing to do.
I am enjoying Move, Sports Champions is a lot of fun, and RE5 which I hadn't played until now was awesome with Move.

irepbtown2759d ago

Very Sensible.
I have the Move and i only used it twice, when i first got it and once more (Had it for a couple of weeks now). I dont think i'll touch it untill SOCOM 4.

There are great PSN Games, and one of them is Tumble.

It shows you the great precision of PS Move.

cochise3132759d ago

i want to try it with killzone 3 and socom. i might finally make the jump then. i'm sure it's good with RE5 because RE4 was great on the wii. the controls felt natural.

Strikepackage Bravo2759d ago

why would you guys want to play your games with a wiimote? Same goes for Kinect, why does anyone want to play hardcore games with motion control?

I fail to understand this, I think people are doing this just to support their console maker of choice. I mean wtf? do you have trouble with all the buttons on the DS3 and 360 controller?

Why are you guys doing this, motion control is lame and its for moms and kids, let them have it, real gamers use controllers and keyboards.

amiga-man2759d ago (Edited 2759d ago )

i personally get on fine with my playstation controller, Move just offers up a different challenge, i don't use it all the time, but some games, if done right will be a better experience with the Move controller,it dosn't replace my DS3,just adds another option to my gaming experience.
it has proved itself to be a very precise and accurate device and i am more than happy to use the Move if it improves the way i enjoy gaming.
oh and by the way Move is a huge leap ahead of the wii remote, to think otherwise is to have a very shallow mind indeed.

jack_burt0n2759d ago

@strikeout package

RE5, heavy rain, and ruse are all "core" games and are far superior with move.... no ifs maybes or whatever its a FACT.

Trroy2759d ago (Edited 2759d ago )

I still have trouble fathoming why ANYONE would ever need more than ONE navigation controller.

Afaik, its only for single player games. Are there any split-screen coop move games that might require two? MAG.. no, SOCOM 4... I guess we don't know... Killzone 3... again, don't know. Seems unlikely though.

RE5, Time Crisis Multiplayer online so far I know.

Parapraxis2759d ago (Edited 2759d ago )

I think the author may have made an error. There would be very few instances where 2 Navis would be needed.
If anything have 1 for the core games that you may want one for and if there are split screen games that use Move + Navi for 2 players I'm sure somebody could manage with a DS3.

Overall it's an alright editorial though.

I am looking forward to KZ3 and SOCOM 4 with Move also.

hesido2759d ago

What Parapraxis said.

The second player could easily use a DS3.

Senpai2759d ago (Edited 2759d ago )

And don't think I will. I had a Wii, and it wasn't really my style. I think I'll stick with my DualShock3.

Fulensenca2759d ago (Edited 2759d ago )

I played Heavy Rain, M.A.G., Flight Control, Tumble and tryed some demos.

Nice experience so far.
