PlayStation Rewards Is Live

Steven Artlip of P*N writes, "You might want to check your email if you are one of the more active people on the PlayStation because it seems like they are already sending out emails for their new PlayStation Rewards program. The signup process is pretty simple, you just login, nothing more. Currently they have their CES giveaway up that you can enter, and then they show a progress bar for how far along you are to the next level."

I posted this on the n4g forums last night. My email came in yesterday evening. It's a novel idea to be rewarded for something you do anyway.

I got my invite as well. I don't really know what this will entail or how the program works. Does it track trophies? Or do you have to register the product code? I notice I can enter to go to CES, but theres no where to see what rewards I have or will get. I love the idea but I don't get it yet. This doesn't count the last few years of PS3 gaming? So it is only what I buy from here on out? How do I submit PSP games to the rewards, etc. I have a lot of questions on how this thing actually works? If anyone knows exactly let me know please.

As far as I can tell, it doesn't track trophies. I've earned two today and it hasn't budged. I have yet to play MoH, so will stick that in today, play it a bit and see if that does anything. I'll then buy the RDR DLC w/the PS+ savings and see if that does anything. Then I'll buy a movie, check that out... etc.

What they need to make sure is that they list all of the things you've done that's improved your Rewards score on the rewards site. Making it invisible isn't going to do squat but make people not give a crap about it because they have no clue what to do in order to increase their reward level.

I got my email last night, but I didn't actually wait for it. I just went to the PlayStation forums and followed the link in the PlayStation Rewards Private Beta forum. I did that early yesterday afternoon.

No, the trip is not the first prize of the program. Its a contest you can enter if you're part of the program. You have to enter it to be able to win, you're not automatically entered as long as you're in the program.

What are you complaining about? Canada doesn't have it either and it is manged by SCEA as a whole. SCEC exists, but they get all the stuff from SCEA.

You act like you all don't get anything.. You have that on demand video service and you get amazing things like the special edition gran turismo 5(which we dont get) Europe has recieved alot great stuff.. Remember that playstation room even that traveled europe and gave people the chance to play games like gran turismo 5, move titles, little big planet2, killzone3? Yea America didn't get anything like that.. So just relax you sound spoiled....

I hope this does not go the way of the MS Live reward card.

Everytime I tried to use it at participating places, I got the same look, wth is that and we dont support it.

This is obviously a different program but the way to success is not to have gamers spend more money in hopes of getting rewards set at goal levels just to high, just give out perks on a steady basis.

Many hope to get into game betas, but I think PSN + ers will get the nod first

So far what I'm in is the Club Nintendo, SE has their own rewards thing going on, then there's the RLS for both Sony and Microsoft.

And outside of those companies, Gamestop is doing their own rewards program.

You had to be a member of GAPs or gotten playstation plus beta early, like within the week it was released. Even if you did get it early you still needed to have had some serious time spent on your ps3. Luckily i was invited but they are not giving many details on how it will completely work, but i am still very excited about it!!

I didn't get an email but I did get in. I just checked the forums and saw that I got in and used th elink to agree to the terms of service. It should work just like CLUB NINTENDO but with more digital rewards.

You do know REWARDS is a FREE program? It's just PS+ members getting to beta test it. It will be out next year for everyone, free of charge.
