Mobile games market 'worth $10 billion by 2014'

The mobile gaming market is set to be worth almost $10 billion (£6.3 billion) by 2014, according to a new report from research firm Futuresource Consulting.

In 2010, Apple's App Store alone - excluding iPad - is forecast to generate $1.7 billion, accounting for around 30 per cent of the total market. Traditional mobile games are expected to account for 60 per cent, with other apps stores representing the remainder.
