ajcastillo2794d ago

Killzone 3, at least for me its killzone 3.

Snakefist302794d ago (Edited 2794d ago )

BOTH!!! In terms of graphics and gameplay both KZ 3 and Crysis 2 are AWESOME!! ill buy both of them Day 1 :D

KillerPwned2794d ago

Sold to me also i am getting both, they are great games well worth the cash. Here have a bubble.

Traveler2794d ago

It looks like it is often running at 15 to 20 fps, with lots of screen tearing. I hope Crytek can do something about that before the game comes out.

KZ3!

Yo CryTek where the fuck is the PS3 beta???

pwnd_of_lol2794d ago

crysis 2 is is going to be multiplatform, and though it will be optimized for the 360, it won't do what kz2 did, build the engine off the strengths and weaknesses of the ps3. on that note, i believe crysis 2 will be more of a technical marvel than killzone 3.

morganfell2794d ago (Edited 2794d ago )

Really? For starters Killzone's lighting engine buries anything Crysis 2 can muster. And as I said, that is just for starters. At this stage Crysis is still missing several blended animations. The two games release about 40 days apart. If you are missing those at this point they either are not being done or there is something wrong.

BTW, run videos 2 and 4 at the same time and look at the menus. Run both in the same resolution? See what is going on? Someone is not being honest.

Developers announced that the PS3 is the Lead Platform for Crysis 2.

Dnied2794d ago

no, no they didnt. lol idiot.. the crytek engine was originally built for PC and using their own software, they're able to create the games for all 3 platforms simultaneously.

It's called cryengine 3 multi-platform technology and there is no lead platform. "Live Create" is a feature that allows the devs to transfer an adjustment made on the pc, to the consoles.

Crysis 2 on consoles will not set any bars graphically and as of right now the game looks terrible when put up beside games like killzone, uncharted etc. I've been playing the beta on my 360 for 2 days and it really isnt anything special.. it is fun, but looks like shit. The videos posted here make it look better than it is because it doesn't allow you to see the imperfections as its off screen and blurry... don't be fooled.

"no, no they didnt. lol idiot.. the crytek engine was originally built for PC and using their own software, they're able to create the games for all 3 platforms simultaneously."

Yeah know that but jesus christ calm down its a video game. I`m sure i heard them say some special shit for the PS3 is all i am saying and i thought they said that.

Traveler2794d ago

Hey Denied, thanks for sharing your impressions. Can you give a few more details? For example, what exactly looks so bad?

In the videos it looks like the framerate is around 15 or 20 fps most of the time and there seems to be a lot of screen tearing. What I can't see clearly in the videos are the textures. How are those? Is there a lot of pop-in like we have seen in some of the single player videos?

Anyway, thanks for your answers in advance.

Dnied2794d ago (Edited 2794d ago )

Hey Traveler.. so right off the bat, the texture pop-in was noticable and quite frequent... atleast at the start of the rounds as it's probably still loading the map at that time. the framerate isnt too much of an issue, but that's mainly because there is never a lot of different things going on at once, like someone said earlier there is a lack of "atmosphere" especially if you're coming from bc2 or medal of honor. Screen tearing.. not too sure I wasn't really looking out for that but will keep that in mind when I play again... I was focusing on testing mechanics and what not.

The game itself is quite fun, they've taken elements from cod and halo and sort of integrated with some minor tweaks.. it really does feel like you're running around in spartan gear and you can jump high, go invisible etc. killcam and the round-ending kill are also in there...

as for the graphics.. I said they look bad because there really isn't much to them.. it feels a bit.. i dunno.. plastic-y like MAG when it first came out. From the gun sounds to the animations it all just feels artificial. I have no doubts they will improve on this before release, but the way they talked about it setting the bar for all 3 platforms, of course I'm going to be a little picky.. lol in this case I don't even have to be, there just isn't much here.

It's released around the same time as KZ3 and KZ3 is way ahead right now so if Crytek is thinking about improving the game they should probably do that pretty soon..

There is no character, it feels like its trying to be all the other games mixed into one, with a crysis "theme" to dress it up. Keep in mind I'm talking about the console version though, I have no doubts crysis 2 on PC will look exceptional just like the first on high settings.

hope that helps =)

Longrod_Von_Hugendon2794d ago

And they're choosing the PS3 as the lead platform on consoles you moron. Do a quick google search before opening your mouth idiot.

Dnied2794d ago (Edited 2794d ago )

@longRod

lol you think I just knew that stuff off hand? nah I googled it because I remember them saying a few months ago that there was no "lead platform" even though PC technically is... but their software generates all the content on all platforms simultaneously...

"This gave us the chance to ask Cevat Yerli, founder of Crytek, technical questions about the Cryengine 3. From the interview we learned that although the Cryengine 3 is a multi-platform technology, there is no lead platform which is usually the case. Instead the Live Create feature of the engine allows the developers for example to transfer an adjustment they just made on the PC to the consoles. The Cryengien 3 automatically converts, compresses and optimizes the content and conveys the output to the platforms. One of the most important features of the Cryengine 3 is its cross-platform scaling capability that makes it possible to reach best results from each platform."

read carefully my friend, easier to comprehend when read a bit slower so try that. If anyone can prove me wrong with facts then so be it, but this is what I got from google on a few different searches now.

Morgan works for Sony. Nuff' Said about his comment.
As for lighting engine? Sure whatever you say Morgan. FP 10/12 HDR for Killzone 3 OR NAO32. Draw Distance? Ya...GREAT
Carry on Morgan.

What the hell does Killzone 3 have to this???

And why are people comparing the graphics of two betas?? LMAO

iamgoatman2794d ago

It seems people on this site love to compare things, no matter how different they may be. It's only a natural progression for them to start comparing 2 games that aren't even finished.

Spydiggity2794d ago

the more desperate people are to share their opinions in these comparisons, the more obvious it is that they know they are wrong.

damage control... or... spin

crzyjackbauer2794d ago

i agree all these fanboys are just messing this site up
i had my doubts but it runs great on the 360 its looking better than MW2
but im going to rent it first

games on there own merit instead of comparing them every chance they get its pathetic. There both totally different games its like comparing gears of war with splintercell just because they are both 3rd person it doesnt work like that

Video #3 is the best I've seen yet. Very nice and realistic looking textures, lightning. It seems there is a good AA in place. Looks very good.

BTW, people should stop bringing KZ to every other shooter article, and viceversa. It is highly offopic and calls for flamewar and trolling.

Shaman2794d ago (Edited 2794d ago )

Agreed! Both look great although it seems like Crytek is slowly implanting more and more graphical features.Just compare this build to one from gamescom, this is closer to PC trailer than that older one. What needs to be fixed is texture pop ins and tearing, they need to implant also per object motion blur...360 version from Eurogamer had it,this does not.Probably older build...

KillerPwned2794d ago

I swear this game just got better looking like i been playing it for a few days now. But today it seems different a lot crisper.

Maybe your computer screen looks better then your TV screen
