The latest EDGE review scores are now available.
EA Sports MMA – 6 Ouch!
Meanwhile, Deadly Premonition gets a 7.
I noticed.. like WTF lol On a side note, Vanquish gets an 8. I'm sure it's a good game but seeing as the campaign is short with no multiplayer where is that 8 coming from?
I always love to see the games Edge considers superior to Killzone 2, Resistance 2 and Ratchet. In this case, Shaun White Skateboarding and Costume Quest. And of course Deadly Premonition as well. From some other review comments: "bad production values and lackluster controls", "serious scenes often containing a light-hearted jazz track", "many low-resolution textures" but still a better game than KZ2. Maybe if they used a rock band instead of jazz, would be as good as God of war 3 (8/10).
EDGE is a bunch of inconsistent D-Bags.
because despite its 6 - 8 hr length its a innovative and well made game
I never like reading EDGE and another reason cuz its so expensive...
I think you should play Deadly Premonition before you make any rational decision. The game aesthetically speaking, is NOWHERE NEAR the level Killzone 2 is of course. The story and dialogue however, is amazing. Too many gamers have pre-concieved notions that it's a terrible game, and in a lot of ways, it is. But it's so damn endearing and fun that I can't give it anything less than a 7. It's a game that is truly far more than the sum of it's parts. Before you dismiss something because it's not an AAA title, make sure you look closer, and be open to unique gaming experiences.
Final Fantasy Heroes and Hokuto Musou ouch...
Wait for a price drop with Vanquish..
Professor Layton gets a 7? Are they fucking stupid?
Wow, these are some tough scores all around. And why is anyone that isn't a casual gaming outlet even bothering grading Professor Layton titles? That's like some super-serious literary critic nitpicking about the latest Spider-Man comic; it's not a boundary-pushing game, it's the gaming equivalent of a fun little serial publication. I'm especially looking forward to Lost in Shadow - the art style seemed pretty awesome. I guess we'll have to read some actual reviews and see what other outlets have to say.
Super scribelnaughts a 6? That's a joke. Again, It's EDGE, i dont care if a game get a 9 or a 5 from them, everyone of their reviews a crap.
It's baffling how Edge reviews are held in such high regard really. I mean, has anyone here ever actually read one of them? They're godawful, terribly short and reveal little to no information about the game they claim to be writing about. I have no doubt that a 13 year old could write better and more informative reviews then these guys. As much flak sites such as Kotaku and Destructoid get for bad journalism etc, they at least put some effort into reviews and explaining what they do and do not like about certain games. Edge is trash in comparison.
Edge is far closer to real criticism rather than a buyer's guide review (IGN) which doles out generic information that can be found elsewhere (namely on press releases).
I actually enjoy reading Edge occasionally it really is just their review scores I find baffling
it is baffling how people comment on edge review scores claiming they suck over and over again. dont read them, it is that easy. or are you just another one who only reads the score and then goes apeshit. score means nothing.
They sound like English-language Famitsu, then, haha. (Except scoring lower)
Fallout New Vegas - 6
Its a critic mag surely, I like edge cause they have super early and extensive coverages and also their reviews reveal the least elements which make a game. (kind of like the GI of the uk) Ergo less mini spoilers/remote spoilers. But rather an opinion. They are serious critics at the end of the day, but its alright. So are the reviewers at GAME (mag)

I like Edge. They've placed curses on their scores so that people who look at the number at the end instead of the review itself are driven to insanity.
No if you read them they make even less sense, edge is expensive toilet paper.
