Game Sales Data Scale Back 'Hard Pill to Swallow,' says NPD

The NPD Group, which tracks point-of-sale video game data in the U.S., recently scaled back the amount of data they provide to media. The September sales report was the first reflection of the new reporting method. There were no units provided on the top 10 games (which are now at the title level, not SKU) and hardware sales were eliminated. This has irked many in the industry, and especially some in the media, so NPD has been trying to calm the storm.
