Nintendo is feeling the heat with Kinect coming out and PS MOVE.

I bet Nintendo is willing to shave off $50 soon to continue their domination. NPD has reported they have 5 out of the top 10 US retail game sales this year so far. If anything this is to combat Black Ops, not MOVE nor Kinect. :)

you guys do realize nintendo has nothing to do with this price drop right?
this is a retailer giving a deal

Kind of odd that Walmart and Costco would both drop the price. Guess Bestbuy will have no choice at the rate they are going or they'll just lose customers.

Yes, I'm aware of that. I was just speculating what Ninty might do in the future to stay ahead. I also know the only thing Ninty wants to combat this holiday is Black Ops. Move and Kinect are only in their introduction phase, it takes years to get more of those in homes than the Wii-mote. I bet the Wii-mote has sold 300 million (combined console and single units sales worldwide). Or somewhere pretty close.

Not so much unexpected. The Wii's sales are seriously falling of late, this Christmas will see a stark downturn compared to last for Nintendo. But they knew that already, and the successor is likely around the corner. I would nearly expect them to unveil something around 6 months - 1 year after the 3DS launches.

I hope they don't call it Wii II :)
