Star Battalion gets so much right – great graphics, online play via Game Center, good mission variety, and a real sense of epicness – that its stumbles are almost doubly disappointing. The strict adherence to the script breaks the rules of the universe whenever convenient for the game. The action is often so frantic the game chugs or even freezes for a moment. And the story is terribly derivative. IGN can only offer a very mild recommendation to fans of space shooters like Star Fox willing to overlook these things, but in the end, their frustration overtook their enthusiasm.
