"It appears Chunsoft borrowed some images from the Big Book of JRPG Clip Art for Shiren’s new friends." -RPG Land
How a game that administers harsh penalties for failure taught a player to accept, even enjoy, not winning.
Never able to get into these games, without the sense of accomplishment that comes from building up an awesome set of characters or character I don't get much out of it.
I don't think I could handle a roguelike at this point in my life. They're something I probably needed to get into when I was a kid and had a ton of free time.
Andriasang: Chunsoft announced today a December 9 release date for Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer 5. The DS title will be priced ¥6,090.
Screenshots of Shiren‘s upcoming 5th adventure, Kingdom Hearts RE Coded, and Radiant Historia, all of which are RPGs for the Nintendo DS.
These games all have a great premise, but then I get them, get excited about them, and they ALWAYS end up being waay too based on luck. Very little skill involved at all. And no, I don't want a game where I can just level up to solve my difficulties, I want a challenge where I have to think - where smart maneuvers can get me out of sticky situations. These games are way too ridden with invisible traps that you can't do anything about, yet have devastating effects. Lame.
