Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

deadreckoning6662619d ago (Edited 2619d ago )

San Andreas is arguably the best game on the PS2. I still think San Andreas is the greatest video game ever devised by man. The freedom and variety in that game is unbelievable. If Rockstar totally remade it with better graphics and updated controls, and a cover system...id buy it in a heartbeat.

Hopefully, the next GTA game or Agent will bring GTA back to its roots. Not saying GTA4 didn't deserve 10/10 scores...just saying that it was lacking in the fun factor.

@Disagrees- Care to explain your stance? San Andreas is indeed ARGUABLY the best PS2 game ever created.

"San Andreas is shocking, not necessarily because of its typically contentious subject matter (though there's plenty in it to rub those of a conservative disposition the wrong way) but because of the sheer scale of the experience...Is it really the best game ever made? Quite possibly, yes."

-Official U.S Playstation Magazine.

"The best game on the PS2."

-GamespotAU

"There really is no other game like it, despite there being many imitators, and this is precisely the kind of experience that reminds why, exactly, we play games: to be liberated from the constraints of reality, and explore living, breathing worlds. Few games have come this close to realizing that promise."

-Gamespy

"Holy f***ing s***. (Sorry...I'm swearing a lot more now because of San Andreas.) I can't wrap my head around how much stuff is packed into this one disc. It's grand, it's ambitious, and funny as this may sound, it's legendary. [Dan Hsu]"

-EGM

"A game that surpasses its genre-defining predecessors in every respect, not just in terms of gameplay, but also in terms of story, characters, and overall fun. It pops many caps in many asses. [Jan 2005, p.58"

-PSM Magazine.

GTA is a good series and all, but it's highly overrated and nothing compared to Metal Gear in my opinion. Also,

nope snake eater !

sdtarm2619d ago

I use my only bubble to say

nope snake eater !

HolyOrangeCows2619d ago

nope snake eater (Or better yet, Subsistence)!

bananlol2619d ago

Snake Eater may be one of the greatest games ive ever played, however no game ive ever played can even be compared to thebrilliance that is SoTC.

ExplosionSauce2619d ago (Edited 2619d ago )

nope, snake eater!

(or Subsistence)

Bobbykotickrulesz2618d ago

San Andreas wasn't that fun in my opinion.

cb4g2618d ago

I think I'm the only one who agrees with you about San Andreas. Nothing tops the "Are you going to San Fierro?" mission, when you realize how much the game opens up from there. Great stuff!

GWAVE2619d ago

Nope. Subsistence.

The mind-blowing thing about the PS2 is that even with a Top 20 list, you're still missing a ton of awesome titles.

darkcharizard2619d ago

Gran Turismo 4 was much better, imo.

Ilikegames762618d ago

released on the PS2 for me.

Steve_02618d ago

GT4 was much better in every way, but I still had more fun with GT3. It was my first PS2 game...
Just a Day by Feeder during the intro, anyone?

Waking up at 12, in my clothes again,
Feel my head explode, from a night of gin...

Rumbanana2617d ago

Someone trying to get their bubbles back I see! Funny how you were sh!tting all over the Playstation only a few days ago!

Man_of_the_year2615d ago (Edited 2615d ago )

Also note that darkcharizard alt account is handheldwars.

I have proof in my PM's. I ignored darkcharizard and then I received a PM from handheldwars telling me off saying that I ignored darkcharizard.

If you follow either one of the accounts, you will see that in each article that he comments in, the other account is also present.

Mods I have the proof in my PM's. Please can we ban his accounts.

monkpunk12618d ago

Simply put metal gear solid 3 subsistence it is still possibly the greatest game of all time, it's a masterpiece of gaming.

guru95352618d ago

I've never been a fan of the Metal gear series since it came to playstation. I liked the NES games more.

All_4_One2619d ago

There are just too many to choose, after all, PS2 does have the biggest library of games of any console ever made, by far.

tinybigman2619d ago

should have stated the R&C series not just one game in it.

Cheeseknight282619d ago

Or at least say Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal. Both were better than the original.

Orionsangel2619d ago

Are you sure about that? Atari 2600 has a lot of games and if you count handhelds. The DS. I'm sure PS2 is on it's way to having the most games ever, but it's not a fact that it has the most games ever.

All_4_One2619d ago

I`m pretty sure the PS2 has the most games of any console, I could be wrong though, maybe it is the Atari 2600. The PS2 has over 2,400 games last I checked, and I don`t think any other system matches that.

CimmerianDrake2618d ago

Nintendo DS - Over 3700
Playstation 2 - 2400
Atari 2600 - ??? (one source said 418)

Ilikegames762618d ago

but it's a hand held and most of its games are shovel ware. I can remember more awesome games on the PS2 than on the DS.

BrianC62342618d ago

How about then the PS2 has the most great games ever. The DS might have a lot of games but are there really that many great games? I doubt it.

Switch SSX for SSX Tricky. Both seem to be great games, but Tricky had RunDMC for their theme song. I don't think that's beatable :P.

bananlol2619d ago

I remember playing ssx tricky as a kid and liking it, but was it really that great? My brother sold all our old ps2 games a couple of years ago so unfortunely i cant pop it back in.

Its in these situations one might wish the psn store had a ps2 section.

HellsJanitor2619d ago

San Andreas was my favorite PS2 game.

bananlol2619d ago

I dont think ive ever been so hyped ut for a release as san andreas. First thing that morning me and my brothers wnt to our local GAME store, but the fuckers wouldnt sell us the game. Now i understand why but then i was so pissed.

Neckbear2619d ago

Replace Kingdom Hearts with Z.O.E. and any Final Fantasy game with GITAROO MAN.

Also, that list lacks God Hand.

BrianC62342618d ago

Did he update the list after you read it? If you look at the bottom it has Honorable Mentions and both Gitaroo Man and God Hand are listed.
